I like this quite a bit better than regular Sleepytime, the vanilla (for me) helps ease off that chamomile taste that I hate so much. I steep mine for an undecided amount of time that equals out to ‘whenever I get back to it’. I call it done when its a nice darkish honey color.

Not one of the ones I drink terribly often but there’s something really comforting about it to me.

Perfect tea for right before I go to bed. It calms and soothes the nerves without being overbearing :)

A pleasant enough alternative to the original Sleepytime of my childhood. Like many others have already mentioned, Sleepytime is like an old, well-loved security blanket. Sleepytime Vanilla makes me feel like somebody took my blanky, sloshed it around in some vanilla-flavored washing machine, and handed it back to me, swearing it was better now that it was all clean.

I didn’t find the vanilla scent off-putting, but it made me suspicious. Once I snuggled closer (and added a teaspoon of organic honey)… yeah, it’s my old blanky, but it doesn’t taste like it had been dragged through the spearmint field and left to bake in the sun in the same, familiar way. Is this a good thing? A bad thing?

Maybe I’ll just rub the satin edging between my fingers awhile longer and see if I can make friends with a new-ish blanky. Change isn’t always bad, but as soon as Mom isn’t looking, I’m gonna run off to the spearmint field.

This is super amazing. I love normal sleepytime, but this vanilla blend is scrumptious. :)

My fist tea purchase of the year. Hopefully one of my only tea purchases this year. I found it at bulk barn of all places!

I really like the chamomile/spearmint combo. This has a nice dried herb (like the smell of dried sage and sweetgrass leaves) and slightly sweet finish. The blackberry leaves give a bit of natural sweetness. The chamomile is very present and I enjoy the flavour of it. I kind of like that chamomile has an almost nectar or honey flavour happening in it but also a bit like mango or pineapple.

I really can’t make out any vanilla at all, but I still enjoy it like the plain Sleepytime blend.

I like this one better than regular Sleepytime…in an old review I wrote “reminds me of a wedding butter mint.”

Accidental Sipdown

I had 2 boxes of Celestial Seasonings in the cabinet and grabbed the wrong one. I had preferred this over the regular Sleepytime tea but tonight’s mug is not exactly inspiring. Pretty sure it’s because my mouth is sore from my dog headbutting me and causing a cut lip. It’s very sensitive, especially to heat.
Pushing through the sensitivity, this tea is pretty much as advertised. Creamy vanilla with spearmint and chamomile. I’ve enjoyed drinking this in the evenings throughout winter. It’s even better with a smidge of honey and cooling a bit. Pretty good for a grocery store tea.

Flavors: Chamomile, Spearmint, Vanilla

Accidental… but still a sipdown!

Yup, and now that there’s a smidge more room, you’d better believe I was browsing for something new for the cabinet

(Skip this part if you just would like to get to the tea note)
My bad health ‘day’ has lasted a little over a week now basically right around the time classes resumed. So I’ve switched to just drinking herbals mainly for the meantime. This past year I was finally going to try and see some new specialists to problem solve my chronic pain/health issues etc. Then Covid hit and I was informed that the medical offices were closing temporarily only doing zoom call appointments. So my waitlist spot is back at the beginning again.

This is one of my go to I’m not feeling good teas. It’s one that I grew up drinking even before I had decided I liked tea. This is a good vanilla mint cheap herbal tea. It’s creamy even without milk added and the chamomile works really well with the other flavors. Love this one. I often rotate between the original Sleepytime tea and the Vanilla one.

Flavors: Creamy, Hay, Spearmint, Vanilla

Everybody needs a small arsenal of no-fuss, no-nonsense, reliable bagged tea that one doesn’t have to think about. I think there are a lot of folks who would put Sleepytime on that list.

mrmopar

Hope you get feeling better soon.

Gmathis- Exactly!
Mrmopar- Thank You, I hope so too.

Lexie, I hope you find the root of the problem! Chronic health issues are awful. I follow,Stop,Chasing Pain on instagram and it is amazing to hear the stories of people who suffered for a long time and finally find their answer. I hope you get yours soon.

A nice way to end the day. The vanilla does not add much to the experience to the “regular” Sleepytime which is a favorite.

After my marathon gongfu session with Tillerman’s Shan Lin Xi, it was too late to have any more caffeine, so I chose this herbal. I don’t usually buy bagged tea, but keep some of this on hand since it’s simple and convenient. I steeped one bag (no idea how many grams) in a 355 ml mug at around boiling for 4, 6, and 10 minutes.

The flavour is predominantly vanilla and chamomile, with a bit of mint and possibly some sweetness from the blackberry leaves (though the vanilla is also sweet, so who knows?). The rose gets completely lost. The flavour doesn’t change over the three steeps and the tea is soothing and pleasant.

Sometimes you need something comforting and uncomplicated, and this tea fills the bill perfectly!

ETA: How can Steepster not have chamomile in its list of flavours?

Martin don’t underestimate yourself! Get a good rest, pace yourself tomorrow with breaks and tea and know that I (nad probably lots of other Steepster friends) am sending you very positive thoughts for a successful outcome.

ashmanra

You can do it, Martin!
