Here’s a special treat—Fujian oolong blended with real freeze-dried kiwi, marigold petals and organic kiwi- and cheesecake flavors. A little tart, a little tangy, a little sweet, and all delicious!

Blind tea pick number 1. I took all my new teas and put them in a basket. I then had hubby blindly reach in and pick me one. This is the tea he grabbed.
It has an amazing smell dry, fruity and slightly reminiscent of cheesecake.
The smell of the brewed tea still has that kiwi scent with a little more cheesecake.
I am not picking up much of the cheesecake flavor in the tea. The kiwi does come through some, but mostly it’s a fresh taste of the oolong.
Going to try a second steep of the leaves and see how that works out.

Backlog:

I don’t think I’ve ever had kiwi cheesecake. If I did, I don’t remember and I think it’s something I’d remember. Kiwi is not the most ordinary of cheesecake toppings, you know?

This is pretty tasty: I can taste the kiwi, I can taste the cheesecake. I like the way the creamy notes of the cheesecake work with the natural creaminess of the Oolong. I get a light tangy flavor from the cream cheese. I am missing some of the buttery pastry/graham cracker type of crust flavor that is often found in Frank’s cheesecake flavors. I’m not tasting it so much with this blend.

It’s an unusual blend but very enjoyable.

I like the sound of this, particularly since it’s an Oolong base. :)

We make a really awesome Kiwi topped Cheesecake at work! But that’s the only place I’ve ever seen Kiwi cheesecake…

A fruity dry smell. It’s been awhile since I’ve eaten a kiwi but this taste is very reminiscent of it. Hints of cheesecake here and there. It also smells quite good when steeped.

Haha, so it looks like I am by far not the only one who picked up on banana here. I was actually going to write that it tasted (pleasantly) like banana medicine, with a hint of what I’ve come to know as “artificial kiwi flavour” (I’m not convinced kiwi flavour can really be replicated because so much of it is mouthfeel). Anyways, not my favourite banana oolong, and the flavour is light (we’ll blame age), but it’s ok. Some marks lost for it being flavoured like the wrong fruit; probably would be 5 or so points higher if it wasn’t so heavily banana.

“not my favorite banana oolong” lol…I would assume an actual banana oolong would rank about a kiwi oolong that tastes like banana

52Teas

LOL – I’ve always felt like Kiwi has sort of a banana, melon and hint of strawberry taste to it so it kind of makes sense to me that a bit of banana would be detected. I don’t really remember what my thoughts were on this blend – as it is a bit old as I didn’t blend it and I can’t even remember when it was released. I suppose I could look that up . . .

@VariaTEA – you would think so! But this is probably better than some banana oolongs that exist.
@52teas – I think I read through the notes on it, and you were one of the few who didn’t get banana, but it was a very common theme. I don’t know what I would liken kiwi flavour to, honestly. I just think of the tartness of an underripe kiwi.

52Teas

I can’t say that I’ve ever had an underripe kiwi – but the kiwi that I’ve eaten have reminded me of either melon … or strawberry … on occasion banana … and sometimes a combination of any two or all three of these. And sometimes, I am not reminded of any of them – just of kiwi. :)

This is another that is at work that I’ve had several times now.

It’s definitely like dessert. I had to stop drinking it in the morning because it is way too good so early haha. Definitely more for an afternoon pick me up at work.

It’s a lighter tea for cheesecake but it still works. I think most of the others are black or like honeybush/rooibos, yeah? So with this the oolong isn’t lost in a rich cheesecake flavor, but it’s still definitely cheesecake. The kiwi is a tad bit stronger of a flavor though, as it needs to be given cheesecake.

Really I never even thought about kiwi and cheesecake, you always think berries. But this works.
