Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish Green Tea

Finally I got around to trying this tea! Uggg, my “haven’t opened pile” is scary right now. I consolidated all the boxes to make it less scary looking, but that didn’t change the amount of tea I haven’t opened yet.

Anyways, I haven’t tried the black tea version of BBCCD and was super pumped it and this green tea version were blended! I snagged the green tea one as I do love my green tea.

Very tasty! I love the candy blueberry jammy taste with the creamy and tang flavors. The green tea is noticable and gets into a boxing match at end of sip with the blueberry. The blueberry wins as it’s there for the aftertaste, tasting like I ate a blueberry pastry. Adding sweetener smooths out the blend more to more blueberry flavor. I quite like this tea and I could be convinced to buy again, but most likely I’ll snag the black tea one to try first.

I have several incarnations of this, however this is the first one I’m trying. With so many high ratings, it only makes sense! :)

Steeped it low, because I’m trying to be respectful of my greens and whites of late. It smelled AMAZING out of the bag. Truly, deliciously mouth-watering blueberry cream cheese danish. I could easily pick out each of the flavors, shockingly.

Steeped, well, I was a bit disappointed. I get a buttery feel, I definitely get blueberry, and everything else is missing. Boo. It’s still tasty, however I must have done something wrong to have missed out on the other, crucial flavors here.

Aha!!! I figured it out. Ha!
Two minutes, and an underleafed cuppa = creamy goodness. Not so much on the blueberry, sadly. But then when I have a blueberry cream cheese danish, I seem to remember there being less jelly filling and more cheesey goodness anyhow, so technically it is somewhat accurate to my memory. Oh man I really like it that way.

thanks to Indigbloom for this sample. I got a lot of blueberry but somehow felt that the green tea sort of overpowered the flavor. I got a bit of sour flavor which reminded me of cream cheese, but nothing that reminds me of pastry. After reading a few of the other tasting notes I think I may try drinking this as an iced tea since I still have a bit to play with. Not exactly all that I was hoping for but still fun. I will avoid rating it for now.

I was excited to try the green tea version of the blueberry cream cheese danish. (My daughters loved this tea too!) I think I do prefer the black tea over the green, but, this one is still quite tasty. (It’s amazing iced too.)

Lots of blueberry flavor to this, sweet and tart.

The green tea base has a crisper taste over the more robust “cozy” sort of taste that I experienced with the black tea.

The pastry takes a little while to develop on the palate, but after sipping 1/3 of the cup, the pastry is THERE. Sweet and buttery … which is further accentuated by the sweet and buttery notes of the green tea. The cream cheese is a little more difficult to find … but every once in a while I can taste the tangy cream cheese weaving its way throughout the sip.

Just like with the black version of the tea, you can smell the blueberries immediately upon opening the package. Once steeped the blueberry flavor takes center stage, backed up by the flavor from the green base. It is a surprisingly tart flavor for a dessert tea, I was expecting to see more of the sweet aspect of blueberries in this blend. Also like the black version of this tea, I have trouble picking out the danish and cream cheese flavors. I expected them to be more apparent with the green base, but unfortunately they aren’t. Every once-in-a-while I get a sharp note that is somewhat reminiscent of cream cheese, but I really have to search for it.

This was in my first highly anticipated order form 52teas. Hot, I was disappointed. None of the blueberry or cream cheese flavor came through, even with some sugar. I left the mug on my dining room table as I left for the day, and when I came back and it was chilled through the highly technical method of not turning on the heat in my condo.

YUM. Okay, cooled down, all the flavors came out to play. Blueberry, cream cheese. So, lesson learned. Iced all the way with this tea.

Another from StarFevre I haven’t written a note for yet, thanks very much! I’m sure this was much better in its prime. (This is a Frank era pouch.) Hints of blueberry left on a pleasant green base. I’m still in love with the black tea version I have of this (also Frank’s era.)

My mom has been asking me for tea each night now which has been interesting… tonight I brewed this up for her and she asked if it was suppose to taste like the package says… to that, I made a rude remark that I should apologize about. That remark was: “Mom, it’s 52teas”
I had to explain myself… not going to post that here though :P
This brews pretty dark for a green tea and it’s a little rough. I do like the little blueberry I found in there though!

This one is okay, but I’m not in love with it. The blueberry flavor tastes slightly off to me, but I think I’m just not used to them freeze-dried—it ends up tasting artificial. There is some creaminess but not as much as I would like, and mostly I get a green base with some odd, sort-of-fruity sweetness. Maybe I’d like the black version better?
