Ok I couldn’t help myself as soon as I finished my cup of white choc grasshopper I steeped the Strawberry pie…… THIS is probably one of the BEST things I have tasted! I taste the strawberry but can taste the “crust” in the tea. I have to resist the urge to place another order today (especially since my husband left me order the Breville today) I am having my parents over for dinner tonight and will introduce them to a big pot of this for after dinner dessert! Is this a permanent honeybush blend or just a limited when its gone, its gone blend?

amandajo

It’s permanent and available on www.mysweethoneybush.com :)

Kristen

woohoo! I am glad! It is very enjoyable!

amandajo

Oh yeah, I love it! Just got to try it at the shop but will most likely buy a pouch this week. :)

I had a really bad night on Wednesday, and I have literally been picking up the pieces since then (can you say broken patio door in -26C weather while it was snowing…uggg). I have been trying to keep up with PMs and swap obligations – but sorry all, I haven’t read a tasting note in almost two days. I will get caught up. I also haven’t been keeping up with writing tasting notes – trying to make sure I at least acknowledge swap thank you’s.

Was drinking this tea earlier today. Thank you ifjuly for sending it to me. I love fruity honeybush, this is right up my alley. It’s a nice real strawberry tea. Reminds me of summer (which it isn’t in my world right now) sweet, juicy strawberries. I’m not sure I’m getting much pie, but really enjoying the sample. I like it, thumbs up.

ifjuly

Ack, that’s the sort of mishap that drives me crazy, domestic stuff with the worst timing. Hope things are better!

I’ve been overwhelmed too. ’Tis the season I suppose.

ifjuly

(and I’m glad you like it! :)

Fjellrev

Eww, hope it’s not going to get even colder than that. Brutal.

TeaKlutz

Oh my what a mess! Good luck staying warm!

Roswell Strange

Tomorrow’s forecast in my city is -45 :/

Dexter

It’s currently -34C with windchill – Saturday night forecast -41C…
Cold weather = good excuse to drink tea.

caile

That’s awful – especially for it to break when it was so cold and snowing!
Sounds like a summer strawberry tea was just the thing to have!

mrs.stenhouse12

I feel your pain! Our heat and hot water was out yesterday all morning in – 40 weather.. Today its -51 with the wind chill at home! I’m in Calgary today though, so only -36… Haha, I hope the cold ends soon! Tea is required in these conditions!

tigress_al

That sucks :(. Super cold here too. Hope today was better for you, and you got to drink lots of tea!

Delish! This is fantastic. I am sharing a cup of this tea with my little girl right now, we just got home from her choir practice and it’s cold and wet outside, so I decided that we needed something to warm us up. She requested a strawberry tea so this is what I grabbed.

It has a lovely strawberry flavor, and the butter flavor is amazing, as is the vanilla. So good!

Like I said before … Frank has a way with honeybush!

Is it cold and wet everywhere today? Definitely a good day for a great hot tea!

More delectable honeybush from Frank… will our pocketbooks ever be safe again? These teas have become my sanctuary. And this tea in particular is incredible. I tried it as an iced latte. I’m ashamed to say I downed a whole stein in about 2 minutes; I wanted to savor it but could not help myself. Juicy baked goods in liquid form, how could I resist? There is so much strawberry here! And there is a definitive pastry flavor too! The best part about the fact that its honeybush? Aftertaste is non-existent: no astringency, just deliciousness. Do I need to gush anymore or do you get the picture already? I am so glad this is a permanent blend.

Jaime

Have I mentioned that I’m jealous that you get to actually go and have the teas there in person? I’m also very excited that this is permanent…it eases the “must go buy this now” urge!

amandajo

lol, True enough, but seriously, this is one you will want to try…it is that good.

Southern Boy Teas

I witnessed the downing of the stein. Or, at least, I think I did. One minute she had a full 24oz glass stein full of creamy iced tea latte… I blinked… and it was empty. I’m pretty sure she set a new record. I’ve had some guys come in and chug some tea before, particularly on really hot days with iced tea, but Amanda is so tiny… I was half worried that she poured it out somewhere to save having to tell me she hated it.

Kristen

Can’t wait to get my order and try this one!!! :)

Jaime

I’m going to wait a week or two…because I know that come Monday, there’ll be another tea that I want to get.

Another Sipdown, this one is from my Cavocorax Collection.
I think previously I added stevia to this one, but tonight I drank it plain, & it was delicious. Thanks again, Cavo.
My end of the day total is 339 teas in the house!

Drinking this in bed while I listen to Ok Computer and ponder about extraterrestrials. I was watching Ancient Aliens earlier. I love that show.
I steeped it at the recommended 212 degrees tonight, for 10 minutes. I’d previously been steeping 52 Tea’s honeybush blends at 195 degrees in hopes of preserving the dessert flavors as best as possible. But it seems that they held up very well. I’m not too sure which temperature I think is better…hmm. I will have to experiment more.
Poured it hot over a spoon of german rock sugar crystals. They are pricey but they really are the perfect choice when you don’t want any added flavor from a sweetener, just enhancement of the tea’s flavors.
Ahhh. 52 Teas makes me a happy girl.

My 52teas order arrived! Did a small happy dance at the mailbox (which is one of those communal thingies in middle of neighborhood), then had the crushing thought that I hadn’t ordered anything decaf/caffeine-free and would have to wait until morning to dig in. I’m sure the neighbors had a good laugh at my expense. Got in the house, opened the pack, and I had ordered this! Another happy dance into the kitchen to brew up a pot.

Okay, let me just say this: if you like strawberries, you must go buy this tea now. Naow. Seriously, if you like strawberries, your life is not complete without this blend. I’m having this neat, no additives, no nothing, and it’s the awesome. I can only begin to imagine how magnificent this will be as a latte.

Oooh, with all the strawberry teas I have been buying lately, I better get this one to try too. And the peach cobbler looks pretty great too!

Jaime

You will love this tea. Love it, I tell you. Yes, I’ve been oogling the peach cobbler as well. Going to hold out as long as possible.

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

I got the Wiskey Sour in today. I bought it for the hubby and can’t open it. He will be home Friday so I will try it then and report back. Can’t wait.

Jaime

I’ll be having that in the morning. Already opened , sniffed it, and barely kept from brewing it up.

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

Just made some of this up. You got me excited to have some again

Jaime

I made another pot…and am drinking a chocolate-strawberry latte now. Nom!!

amandajo

This is seriously my favorite strawberry tea, and I only tried it once! That reminds me I should order some…

This one I love. Had a cup last night, with a splash of milk. Strawberry, buttery-pastry amazingness. Luckily I have a fair bit of this left, because I’m going to be distraught when it’s gone. Divine yumminess.

It’s been so long since I had this in my cupboard. When I saw that it was included in one of the reblends, I knew that I had to give a pouch another try. Before I realized that I needed a lot of leaf and a long steep time to make a tasty cup. It certainly smells like honeybush and strawberry.. maybe a little bit like strawberry bubble gum? After water has been added, the cinnamon really pops and it actually takes on a rather spicy character.

Sipping… the honeybush and strawberry pop on the tongue first. It starts off rather pleasant, but then the strawberry starts to taste a little fake and a bit freeze-dried.. you know that flavor? It’s not so much chemicals as something that’s a little off. The cinnamon shows up next and takes you into a nice, rather sweet finish. I think I like this tea a little bit more than when I first had it, but it’s still not giving me the butter, brown sugar, pastry, pie flavors that I think it should have.

Very drinkable in this f-f-freezing weather we’re having at the moment. Quite a soothing cup, but maybe not a repurchase for me unless I can pull out more of that pie flavor.

Tried this last night. It smells sooo amazing. But as for the taste, I’m not really getting the strawberry flavor that everyone else seems to. It was more of a cinnamon flavor with a general sweetness. It’s very good, but not what I expected. I went with exactly 8 minutes, I’m not sure if more or less time will tone down the cinnamon/allow the strawberry to come out.
