Today’s drink-while-I-work tea (gong-fu style).
This tea has aged well; it has calmed down and yet has retained a complexity of flavors.
Slightly bitter, but not overwhelmingly so when flash brewed.
I am already many steeps in and this tea is still going on strong, I think it will last throughout my entire shift today.
This is a great daily drinker; a good robust tea for a good price.

The complexity and flavor of this tea is fantastic.
The melon adds such a unique flavor – I like to toss in a decent sized piece of the melon rind each time I steep.

I have found that I really enjoy most teas from Malawi. I really appreciate What-cha for obtaining so many great teas from this location.
I think (for me) it might be the soil that the tea is grown in because I have yet to find a tea from Malawi that doesn’t have a rich deep earthy yet green flavor – and I can lose myself in the taste.
This tea is no exception. The flavor is of a warm dark soil yet sweet and slightly vegetal.
I like to brew this tea Gong Fu style, where I run close-to-boiling water over it in a flash steep and can get many cups out of a few pearls.

Some of the best smoky lapsang I’ve ever had.
I really enjoy Lapsang Souchong – I have to be in the mood for it, but when I’m in the mood for it I CRAVE it.
This Lapsang is not too smoky; you can taste the leaf along with the smoke – providing a complex flavor that has not been overpowered. Well done.

So far, Dark Depth is my most favorite tea – only being rivaled by Crimson Lotus 2008 Bulang Imperial Grade Shou (which is long long gone).
As a coffee drinker, this tea comes as close to a ‘coffee replacement’ as reasonably possible.
This is my daily wake-me-up go-to tea. The flavor is quite rich and the soupy mouth feel nice and thick; it’s sweet and flavorful (and wow is the soup dark!!).
You get your moneys worth out of this tea – it steeps over and over again while maintaining that rich sweet nutty flavor.

This tea is an absolute pleasure.
I feel like it warms your entire body; maybe even the soul. It’s a great way to start the day on a cold chilly winter morning.
Little Lullaby responds well to gong fu style flash steeping and yields many many cups. I don’t think you can overheat this tea – it’s still sweet, even if the water is boiling.
It’s got a soft complexity that maintains through every cup yet it is never overpowering. Have I mentioned that I love this tea? I love this tea.

This tea yields many sessions with just a few grams; providing complex flavor that changes over time with sweetness and depth.
