513 Tasting Notes
This is my second time trying this tea, and I think I am still deciding if I really like it or not. I love Birthday Cake and Oh Canada, but I am finding myself borderline iffy on this one. I think I like the overall flavour, but I prefer the inherent sweetness of a rooibos base when it comes to a cake-like tea.
On the other hand, my boyfriend loves this tea and prefers it to our rooibos blends. This leads me to believe the issue lies more with my inherent dislike of black teas than with any real issue with the tea itself. Oh well, more Birthday Cake tea for me this way!
Lord do I love a good fruity iced herbal! I had tried this hot ages back and not been blown away, more fool me! Cold the initial note is a mega strawberry hit followed by a tart rhubarb ending note. I find that the mild, but slightly sour, yogurt just serves to mellow everything out. Crisp and refreshing, it was perfect for the plus forty something we were stuck in yesterday!!
Finally got into a physical David’s Tea (and subsequently visited many times more) but this was truly today’s find. They offered to make me a tea to go (I should have seen the trap here coming I know) and suggested Guava Cadabra iced. Oh my god, it is amazing! I have honestly never tried guava and thus had not considered this tea as a necessity, but now that I have tried it…. I have so much tea to drink right now, but, once I get though a few of my tins, Guava Cadabra you will be mine!! The tea is naturally sweet and super tropical. I don’t get a ton of mango, but I do get fruit and it tastes great. Super smooth and refreshing over ice!
I picked up a bit of this tea to try. I loved the smell and was really excited to try it steeped. Honestly, it was a far more delicate flavour than I expected it to be. The first couple of sips I really wasn’t sure, but it grew on me as I finished the cup. I tastes lots of apple, a bit of popcorn, and a hint of caramel. I enjoyed my cup and will try it again.
I bought a bit of this tea to try iced and am I ever glad I did! It is not what I was quite expecting, but really refreshing! The fragrance of the tea had me very concerned, as did the promised bamboo, but, cold steeped, I found the tea itself to be a nice delicate fruity blend. The peach really shone through, and I do absolutely adore peach! I can see myself drinking this many more times!
I was intrigued by the idea of this tea, chocolate and strawberries seemed like an excellent plan in my world! The smell was strong and heavy on the strawberry, which I loved. After I had brewed the tea, I found that the fruit notes were present but very subtle. The finished tea had a strong deep chocolate note that I really liked. I found it most certainly needed a bit of sweetening, though not a huge amount. Overall, I liked this tea and I think it will continue to grow on me. It is not the instant love I have had with other blends, but I would totally drink this again.
I hate to say this, but for me this tea was an honest ‘meh’ kind of moment. Smelled wonderful, but the taste for me was just murcky mango fruitiness. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either? Honestly, I didn’t hate it, but there are a ton of other blends I have liked a lot more. Just not a me kind of tea I guess!
