A big pot of this while having a foot pampering afternoon was just the right choice.

Look after your toots, toots.

Celeste Alice

Foot pampering and tea certainly go hand in hand :D

I really like this one as a refresher, a palate cleanser. I don’t really get any of those yoghurt/creamy notes but that might be due to the age of the blend? In any case I really don’t mind; I’m a fan.

Rediscovered my enjoyment of this blend lately and am quickly getting through the last of the supply that ashleyelizabeth sent on my fateful first Steepster swap!

Got a sample of this in a lucky dip in store the other day. Took one sniff of it and threw it in an overnight cold brew. It tastes just like Jefferson’s “Summer Puddin’”. It’s fine. It’s a tart fruit tisane. I’m not fussed.

Nyeh… I feel like each time I drink this, I nudge the rating down a smidge more. Boo.

Oh well.

I had this as a dessert mug with milk and sugar tonight and I just… yeah. It was ok.

Having a cup of this tonight as a bit of a palate cleanser (I may or may not have eaten a whole pack of red velvet Tim Tams…) and it’s making me quite nostalgic for the earlier days of T2.

There’s something about this blend that just isn’t… trying as hard as the current limited edition releases. This year has been exciting but three new special teas every MONTH is a little too much, particularly when those teas cost between $20-$30 a box (50-150g depending on the blend). And the monthly themes are fun but also a bit overwhelming, some blends feel overcomplicated and other months I don’t really care about. Just like… settle down.

Settle down and re-release some earlier greats.

Like this one.

Cameron B.

Tim Tams are so good! The only have them here around Christmas. :(

I just raised a racket on twitter about the fact that the USA packets apparently say “Australia’s Favorite Cookie”. We… do not have “cookies” here. Tsk.

Another wonderful sample from VariaTEA and this is my favourite one yet, if only because it was a nice surprise compared to the other two. Don’t get me wrong, I really dig the Cookies & Cream and Banana & Cream flavours but this one was less sweet and so it was a nice break from the trend. Less sweet, but still so delicious. Buttery caramel flavours but still such matcha. YEAH!

Translating my ratings, at a glance:

100 — CRITICAL OBSESSION LEVEL REACHED; CAN YOU MARRY TEA!?
95 — this must always be in my pantry. forever.
90 — excellent! you need to try this tea!
85 — very good! you should try this tea!
80-70 — I enjoyed this and will happily drink it again.
65-50 — Fine. Unremarkable.
45-35 — this wasn’t the worst drink ever but I was disappointed; it didn’t live up to my expectations at all.
30-0 — I didn’t enjoy this tea and that makes me sad.

MY TEASTORY:

Grandad got me started young, white (a LOT of white) Irish breakfast with two.

I never strayed far from that until the world of T2 Tea came to Brisbane some years ago, and now I don’t know what I’d do without a pantry full of tea options.

These days I prefer to drink my teas straight without sweetener (though I appreciate some black variations shine better with milk and/or a dash of honey/sugar). I also love a speedy iced tea (hot brewed then poured over ice), and my latest obsession is cold brewing (which doesn’t make a lot of sense, as Australia is headed into winter and I live in the coldest corner of the country, but oh well).

I’d love to make a bunch of tea friends on here, especially those who can talk Aussie teas with me. I’ve recently come back from a jaunt to North America and it was a real hoot to hit up DAVIDsTEA after reading so many reviews! I wish I’d had the chance to get to more stores… but I’m happy with what I got back past customs. See those teas and my local jams in my reviews.

I LOVE:
+ black teas
+ white teas
+ oolongs
+ flavoured versions of all three of the above
+ herbal infusions and fruit tisanes

NOT A FAN:
+ most green teas
+ LICORICE ROOT (my sworn enemy) and aniseed flavours
