98 Tasting Notes
Got this awhile ago and finally had time to take a swing at it. So here is how it went.
Dry smell: Corn
Wet Smell: Wet corn or corn that has that weird fungus on it.
Overall it tastes and smells mostly like corn. There is a bit of buttery-ness to it but for the most part it is like corn, corn, corn. I like how smooth it is and the color is nice but I want it to be more dynamic somehow. Oh, well overall enjoyable.
Preparation
Alright so I hate this warm but think I have finally found the only way I will ever enjoy this. Cold steeping. I decided to give this tea one last try and thought maybe cold steeping it over night in the fridge might save me from the taste of this. It worked! The tea is slightly sweet, floral, and peachy with no astringency. I thought about adding sugar to it but there is enough natural sweetness that it tastes fine without. Love it this way.
Preparation
What was your ratio (cups/tsps)? I am thinking about doing this regularly as well, but every time I try to cold steep, it comes out really bland.
WOW!
Dry Smell: Dry Roasted peanuts
Wet: Earthy nutty
So that was not what I expected. The smell is very misleading, at least for me it was. This tastes just like a very subtle jasmin tea. There is a sweetness too it and the jasmin taste isn’t very over powering like it can be with some teas. I love this one and would drink again and again.
Preparation
Dry Smell: Smells like roasted nut’s. A little smokey but not too offensive.
Wet Smell: Very smokey kind of like BBQ pork or something.
So…. Not a fan. I guess I really just do not like smokey teas. It’s not bad if that is your thing but this is not for me. I am glad that Tea From Taiwan sent this to me though with several other lovely samples.
Preparation
Dry Smell: There is some sort of floral smell that I have never smelled before, especially in an Oolong tea. It’s very intriguing.
Wet Smell: Smells no other Oolong I have ever tried.
So this is a very interesting Oolong. Everything about it is very different from any other Oolong I have ever tried. It has the normal taste of TKY under a taste I have never gotten from anything else. There is a sort of sweetness to it and it is very light and smooth. I love it, it’s just so unique and different.
Preparation
Dry Smell: Raisins.
Wet: Roasted something. Not sure what, maybe roasted nuts?
So I have made 4 16oz cups so far and this is still going strong. It has the usual Ti Kuan Yin taste with that of Wuyi. I look forward to find out how many steeps I can get out of this before it starts to fall off.
Preparation
Wet smell: Smells like corn dogs.
Tastes like veggies. With a little bit of grass mixed it as well as some spice. It’s very enjoyable as well as a little relaxing.
Preparation
Dry smell: like fruit. Mostly grapes or plums.
Wet Smell: soy sause and noodles.
Lovely light flavor that unfolds slowly. There are notes of avocado as described as well as the grapes of plums I smelled in the dry leaves. Lovely.
