I got a pot of this while eating out with my dad today after he helped me move a few things. It was very good. Nice grassy taste with a little bit of sweetness to it.

drank Chocolate Chai by Adagio Teas

Dry Smell: Coffee

Wet Smell: Chocolate Coffee.

There is a muted chocolate flavor and very little spice to this. It’s a little weak all around actually, which is a little sad. I would like to try it in maybe some milk or something since it would be possibly nice as a hot chocolate type things. I don’t know though.

drank Gyokuro by Adagio Teas

Dry Smell: like a fruit rollup.

Wet Smell: Like snow peas.

Tastes like snow peas. Maybe grass as well. Not bad I’ve never had Gyokuro before but it’s nice I think I might like Sencha Better though.

Put some ice cubes in a teapot and some gyokuro leaves on top of the ice. As the ice melts…pure tea amino acids melt off snf can be poured off into a cup for a super concentrated sip. Little by little…you get these little tastes of tea. Of course, the better the gyokuro the better the flavor. (Just a suggestion, one of my favorites)

Thanks for the tip Bonnie! :)

So I ordered a ton of Japanese green tea to try out in my new Kyusu that I bought myself for destroying finals.

Dry Smell: Smells like fruit leather, strawberry fruit leather.

Wet Smell: Smells like Matcha with a little bit of sugar.

So I rather enjoyed this as my first Japanese green tea (outside of Matcha). It pretty much tasted just like Matcha only a little sweeter then I’m used to. It tasted nice and clean and distinctly different from how Chinese green tea tends to taste.

drank Sleeping Dragon by Adagio Teas

So first a story of how I received this tea. Today I had my last final for class where I got certified in unarmed stage combat and broadsword, as well as getting certified with recommendation for rapier and dagger. Since I did so well and because I rocked all my other finals, I decided to get myself a little gift. The Adagio I frequent just got in several Kyusu and I figured if I’m gonna reward myself it might as well be tea related. So I went in, saw some of my friends who work there and picked out a nice Kyusu for myself. To my surprise it ended up being expensive, $136 to be exact. To make me feel better about paying so much, since I didn’t have any points or anything, my friends decided to throw in a lot of samples. This happened to be one of them and it has been one I wanted for a long time.

Now to the tea….

Smell Dry: sort of sweet and veggitabally.

Wet Smell: like wet leaves after fresh rain. There is still some sweetness to the smell as well as a little smoke.

Taste: Rather lovely. There is a mix of taste similar to gunpowder and dragonwell.

Tastes like nothing…. reminds me why I drink loose leaf. It might be good but I am not picking up anything and I have been steeping it for about 2 hours. Oh well, at least it was free.

Had this as my morning tea today. Was good as usual, though today there was a little more smokyness then there usually is. Wasn’t a bad thing like with Lapsang but was just a little surprising.

drank Dragonwell by Adagio Teas

So, I gotta say that I wasn’t too impressed with this one. It might be because I had Miss. Li’s Dragonwell as my first Dragonwell and that was something I will never forget. This one from Adagio though… It wasn’t bad but it was no where near as complex and fulfilling as Verdant’s. It tasted grassy, a little sweet, and a bit earthy as well, just like Verdant’s but there was just something more subdued about this one from Adagio. If i were to get it again (since I only got it as a tea-to-go) I would probably make it at home and would probably try either more leaf or longer steep time, if not multiple infusions to see if the flavor changes at all.

On the plus side the new combination I made while in store turned out better then I expected. Called it “Silver Linings” made up of 45% silver needle, 35% chamomile, and 20% lavender. Very relaxing.

So today started as a horrible day when I was awoken to find out that my debit card info had been stolen and used to purchase someone memberships on several dating sites, hope those work out for them…

That aside I figured that this tea would make me feel better. Though I ruined the smell of the dry leaf some time ago it still tastes amazing. Not as good as the day I got it mostly because i suppose it is getting old but still, amazing. I feel much better after this.

OMG – that’s horrible! I’m sorry that happened to you. :(

Invader Zim

I hope you get your money back!

Claire

Oh no, hope that gets fixed for you soon! It’s happened to my poor dad a couple of times now. :(

Bonnie

I CONFESS! (not really, I’m sorry …mine was stolen last month and used for google purchases $12.00 over and over and over again. Of course my bank put the money right back in my account within a couple of hours). Had to get a new card though! A bummer!

canadianadia

How frustrating. I hope that gets sorted out for you quickly.

Babble

Ugh, hope it works out. It seems everyone has a “my credit card was compromised” story. Did your bank catch it or did you? It’s always bad when you’re the one who finds it before your bank does.

Matt

Yeah now I have mine. I was the one who found it since my bank seems to think I’m sad enough to need two dating sites lol.

Profile

Bio

Well, to start, my name is Matt. I got into loose leaf tea my sophomore year in college. I was drinking some lipton tea in my room when I started thinking to myself that there has to be something more then just bagged tea. So I decided to do a web search and found out about loose leaf (you would think that this would have been an obvious thing but surprisingly it was not). I stumbled across a local tea cafe called Argo tea and decided to try it out. Long story short, I fell in love. From this one store I have started to branch out to all different types of tea from several different stores.

My favorit tea is very hard to choose since I like pretty much everything there is that I have tried. I have recently started getting into pu’erh teas, which is getting to be interesting. I am always looking for new a greater tastes when it comes to tea and am trying to better express my experiences with tea.

Aside from tea I am an actor in the Chicago area. I do mostly theatre and various film projects through out the Midwest. I recently started doing Voiceover work, which I have to say is very fun and easy going.

My number ratings are more random then anything. Since I have no idea half the time when I move the slider on the happy face meter what number will be showing up.
