R is for… Root Beer Float!
Reblend from 2017. This is just delicious – spot-on root beer flavour with a flavourful base. I didn’t like the second infusion as much – although it still had plenty of flavouring, the base was less present and this apparently made a huge difference!

Now this is a throwback! My mom had the remains of my packet of this tea (from yeeaaars ago), and since it contained coconut, I was curious if it would still be ok. It smelled alright (maybe a tad soapy), so I figured I’d brew up a cup. Unfortunately, since the coconut is a main flavour and the rest of the tea is rather light in flavour, the slight soapiness is fairly present, which is a little offputting, and I could barely taste the sweetness of the mulberries. Couldn’t taste the silver needle at all. Poor old tea! May dump the last cup or so, although I’m going to finish what I brewed up.
Although it was always light on the actual tea, I miss this one so much! If the mulberries haven’t spoiled you can eat them straight from the packet or throw them in another tea.

I actually recently just re-added this tea to my collection… and also have an old bag of it that I need to finish… but I couldn’t resist a cup yesterday. First infusion was nice and light, but I oversteeped the rest and they were a bit strong. I think I need to use fewer pearls.

My parents love this tea, especially with asian food. I thoroughly enjoyed it with my delicious supper of dumplings and other Mandarin dishes, but especially when drank with food, it mostly just comes off as a fairly smooth jasmine tea. Preferable to a green jasmine, but nothing particularly special.

Taking advantage of my mom’s tea collection (mostly supplied by me) while visiting, so a few teas outside the alphabet challenge. Unfortunately, should have read reviews before I steeped this so it wasn’t so astringent, but I did enjoy the richness when I could taste it behind those tannins!

R is for… Raspberry Matcha!
I skipped over Q in the alphabet – didn’t have any 52teas for that letter, and didn’t bother to pick up anything from other companies (instead, I did an extra day of P).
Had this raspberry matcha with milk this morning; tasted somewhat more like raspberry than last time, but still not overly.

P is for… Pancake Breakfast!
A different packet of Pancake Breakfast that I previously reviewed this year; about 3.5 years more recent. Lots of mapley aroma, and my first very hot sip seemed to have a touch of pancake in it, too (I previously remarked that I’m not a fan of pancakes, but since having kids, pancakes are now a Thing and I dislike them less and am also more acquainted with their flavour).
May amend this note later; I am tired and my tea is too hot and I want to go to bed.
