184 Tasting Notes
When I finally got the bag opened (the crimping was REALLY close to the seal, and I’m not quite awake yet :P), the smell of the dry leaf was amazing…smelled just like caramel pecan.
Prepared, I’m not tasting cheesecase. I taste the caramel, which is nice and sweet. I taste the oolong, which is, admittedly, not my favorite base. I’m not sure what I’m tasting, actually. I’ve never had roasted mate before.
So, everything must be blending together. This was a short steep time for me at 2:30, so next time, I’ll try longer.
I think this is getting better as it cools. Also, I REALLY need to figure out how many oz this mug holds. I have no idea.
Preparation
Today, I used twice as much tea, and I’m getting a lot of flavor with it. I think this is good…still not like the description, but a nice light tea. I still agree with the decision to go with a green tea on this one.
Preparation
Opened up this package today. The first thing I smelled was the marshmallow root. It was very prominent. After brewing the wet leaves smell like lemon. But, in the cup, I don’t think either one is overpowering. I had a 2-minute steep, which may have been too short, but there is a blend of the flavors. The base is good…I don’t know what a hair needle is, but the base is not overpowering either. I think everything is a good blend.
Preparation
First time I’ve tried this since buying it during the close of Butiki madness. I have 2 words to describe this tea (which I added some liquid stevia to, since I like most of my teas that way):
Strawberry Quik
That’s exactly what it tastes and feels like. It FEELS like flavored milk, and I know I didn’t put any in. Instead of buying an overpriced soda while my son plays dodgeball at the rec center, I made a thermos of this tea and brought it with me. It was such a great idea!
Preparation
I was a little afraid to try this tea before…I ‘created’ this tea, and didn’t want to find out if I had screwed it up.
Pleasantly, it tastes pretty much like I wanted it to. I can taste everything, and I really like it.
