36 Tasting Notes
I’m really getting to like this green from Adagio. I just finished my third steep and was pleasantly surprised at how much I’m liking it. The aftertaste is awesome- tastes like a good warm biscuit in your mouth fresh from the oven…The general (well there is nothing general about tea), but the taste of the tea was different for each steep starting out a little sweet with not much else happening but in second steep notes come whistling through and its sweetly delicious. The 3rd steep is just as good as the second but I noticed the biscuity aftertaste the most after this one. I think this is gonna be my favorite new green from them! Dang it! I just put in an order for them 2 days ago and I didnt get any more of this…YET!
Preparation
Well, I’m FINALLY making myself try this tea that I got from Adagio last month on my birthday- isn’t that sweet? How come every time I make a flavored black it comes out so much stronger than other leaves. I mean I don’t even know if you can call these pellets leaves but boy do they bring on the bold! I topped it off with some reddi whip and I’m all ready to party now lemme tell ya! WoooHoooo! Yes, it’s stronger than I like but a more refined version of this may taste just right for a dessert tea. The more sips I take the more bland I taste the flavors – definitely one dimensional and no notes coming from these teas! But its sweet and hot and possibly in need of a splash of milk. Yeah thats what it needs.. Are these blacks strangely stronger than breakfast teas and assams?
Preparation
I have always been told that tannins and caffeine kind of go hand in hand, so the faster something gets bitter when steeping, the faster the caffeine can get into the water so more caffeine in a shorter steep. I think it has to do with how much surface area of the leaf is in contact with the water…

There are some great charts here.
well, been a really busy morning today and this is my first time to sit and chill-ax. Ah the comfort of a good cozy chair…well I had this tea yesterday and I just can’t seem to get enough of its playful leaves and buttery fruit like taste. One of my fave oolongs I think but I don’t know everything I’ve tried is just sooooo good! This steep (the first ) I let brew a little longer than yesterday and I put a little more tea in the infuser- wham bam thank u maam!! I’m ready for my 2nd steep now…
Preparation
Mmmmm, very nice. Just the smell of it pulls me in. There is a nice sweetness that comes with it. The first infusion is remarkable, complex, lovely, I can’t wait for the 2nd steep which to me, is always better and has more pronounced flavor. Great aftertaste still lingers at the back of the throat, almost floral- like.
Preparation
Very nice and smoooooooth taste to this one. Suprisingly sweet yet delicate. I love to watch these leaves unfurl in my diffuser, and they withstand at least 4-5 good steeps for me. I can definitely taste the jade-ness in this tea and its really good! These big leaves are gorgeous!
Preparation
For a coconut oolong this tea really fits its description. It tastes filling and creamy and the tea looks ‘milky’ almost murky. The way this tea store recommends this tea , I just couldn’t resist trying some, but I would definitely not say its “extraordinary” but I’ll drink it cuz I dont want to waste it but I wouldn’t buy this again- just not my favorite coconut tea.
Preparation
Funny that u ask because I was shopping for one yesterday…I want to try 52 Teas coconut cream pie- sounds delicious! Adagios coconut black was pretty good too. Maybe the cocnut just doesn’t go too well with an oolong?
I don’t know. I like Golden Moon’s Coconut Pouchong tea and it’s an oolong. http://www.goldenmoontea.com/Coconut_Pouchong_-_Awarded_Bes_P26C15.cfm
I wasn’t able to tolerate Adagio’s flavoring, so the coconut didn’t do me much good. I agree that 52 Tea’s Coconut Cream Pie sounds nice. Let me know when you find something good.
I drink chai about once a month it seems but I’m always pleasantly surprised by the tasty treat! I’m still very sick with the friggin Swine Flu and thought I needed to put some spices in there to help get me over the hump of this damn flu. I’ve never felt so sick in my life! I am able to make teas all day long to try and get thru this mundane existence right now-thank God for tea! This chai is tasting very good, so for the moment I am happy, I’ll just savor the malty ,spicy, yumminess of all the wonderful herbs in this tea right now..its just about the only thing I can do to try to keep my mind of feeling like utter crap.
