I’m pretty happy it’s a short day at work today. This tea is ok. The only thing I’m getting is roasted mate with a sweetness to it. Some other reviews suggested steeping this like a green. I might try that and leave the rating black for now.

Added bit of honey to this and the fruity flavors shine a bit brighter. There is a base of smoke which is interesting with the fruit. The lemon is definitely there but the blueberry just adds a juicy/sweetness touch to it. It’s an ok blend. I’ll have to try it iced or cold brewed!

Decided to brew this one up today! I went .30 longer than I usually would and it turned to the bitter side…. Still has some flavor just a slightly bitter aftertaste that gives it a malty-ness. The coconut is in the background. As it cools a slight sweetness comes out.

Using my gourd this morning! I love it :) the first few gourd-fulls are pretty strong but this is actually quite different than the regular yerba mate. It has a mellow flavor but has so much going on. It starts off kind of grassy but has almost a minty/pine flavor too. The finish is sweet with super light citrus notes. I almost like this better than the regular yerba mate. I want to go camping and take this and my gourd!

Flavors: Citrus, Grass, Mint, Pine

drank Maple Bacon by Man Teas

This tea honestly smells like breakfast to me. Maple syrup, smoky bacon, and black tea :) I haven’t had this tea in a while so I added a pinch of salt to help the bacon. This is definitely a delicious cup! Maple and bacon are both present! Although I do wish there was a bit more bacon to it ;)

Thank you so much to Angel and Teavivre for sending me a generous sample of this tea. The dry leaf is a beautiful grass green. The aroma of the dry leaf is buttery and leafy. The flavor is rather different than other tie guan yin oolongs I’ve had. Usually I’m used to strong floral flavors but this has much deeper flavors. It’s woodsy, buttery, floral, sweet, and a touch of creaminess. I’m going to enjoy a few more steeps of this one :3

Flavors: Butter, Floral, Sweet, Vegetal, Wood

I still really love this tea :3 I had it with a side of scrambled eggs. The flavors are all spot on including that pancakey feel. Hot butter, maple syrup, and a cakey flavor. Mmmmmm :P

Felt like this would be a good one since I haven’t had it in forever! I like the combination of teas in this blend. I like the orange/ginger flavor. And I like ever so light spicey note it has.

drank Red Velvet Cake Mate by 52teas

Another one gone! I completely forgot I had this tea. Good thing I’m going through my stash :3 I enjoy roasted mate far more than I enjoy regular mate. It’s a bit smoother. The flavor is still with this one. It has a nice cakey feel to it and is even complete with cream cheese frosting :3 This one will be missed.
