726 Tasting Notes
Is that a raisin in my tea!??! Ahhaha ahh well, anything to get the best flavours out!!
Oh, it smells very rooibos-y, but sweet and caramel-y. This reminds me a whole lot of Oh, Canada from DT! Good tea. Not so much carrot cake, but more like rooibos with a touch of cinnamon and caramel :)
Thank you VariaTEA for sending me a sample of this. It was lovely :)
I haven’t been drinking a whole lot of tea lately mainly because Disney :( But I try to drink as much as I can on my days off!!
Tropical Hibiscus unsweetened iced tea from Panera Bread this morning!
At first it was weird, but then I kinda liked the fact that this tea is unsweetened. Like if it was sweetened, it would have been super sweet and medicine-like.
Good tea. I’ll probably try the Açaí Berry tea when I’m there next time!
Dude. Now I’m craving an Açaí Bowl now! Just looked it up, and there’s one right across the street from Panera. Welp. Looks like I’ll have to go there soon!
I used to work at Panera, and after I was told that the Green Tea and Lemonade weren’t included I the free drinks we could have, I started drinking a lot of the Acai Berry. It’s not bad, the only bad thing is that they don’t always clean the container very well and sometimes all the built up residue turns the tea sour. I would always get so mad when I would go in to close, and des over that the tea is 9 hours old and hasn’t been cleaned all day. I don’t know if you location is as lazy and disfunctional as mine was though, haha.
I cold brewed this last week and like definitely strained it out and left it in the fridge bc I didn’t have time to drink it haha
but I finished my cold brew and it was yummy, but it did get a slightly bitter taste to it as it sat in the fridge. I have two other cold brews in mason jars in the fridge. One from last week and one from last month… I really should throw the older one out ahha
Sleepy time because I’m up early tomorrow so I can go to the parks with my friends, and then work in the afternoon! Training is fairly intensive and my voice is dying :/
Red Leaf Tea – Sample #12
1 July 2014
Dry: Dark, yet a vibrant colour. Kinda like the colour of the face up near the 100 rating!
Straight: Not bitter, and actually quite smooth! Dark liquor colour, nice vibrant froth.
Latte: So good, and so smooth with the addition of the vanilla almond milk! Definitely one of the better matchas I’ve had. I compare everything to sample #6 cuz that was seriously the BEST matcha I’ve ever tasted, but this isn’t quite up there with it, but just a few notches down. Definitely better than a lot of the other matchas I’ve had though :)
Colour: 90
Flavour: 85
Bitterness: 82
Suggested Price: $19
Had a bit of this guy Wednesday morning right before class :)
Nice roasty coffee-like tea on the way to Disney! Yes, because I’m doing the Disney College Program in Anaheim, we don’t have like actual classrooms sooooo we had class in one of the rooms at the Disneyland Resort hehe :) It was great! But the room may change every week sooo.. let’s hope it’s in the same place tomorrow haha
Went to Disneyland on Sunday and my friends and I decided to get some Starbucks down Main street :)
Decided on some peach green iced tea or something and it was pretty good? A tad too sweet. Probably won’t purchase since I can make tea for cheaper on my own haha.
I’ve been so busy the past couple weeks and this was my first cup of tea since WEDNESDAY wow. VidCon was crazy (and I’m never going again… a good and a bad thing), but Disney seriously is taking over my life!
I’ve been wanting to try this tea for so long because I love love LOVE oolongs, but I’ll never purchase it from Teavana 1) because it’s definitely out of my price range, and 2) I’m not exactly the biggest fan of Teavana.
Thank you Starbucks for teaming up with Teavana so FREE TEA.
This is a lovely tea, but definitely not worth $24. Become a Starbucks member so you can get a free oz of tea! It has a nice lightly roasted, smooth taste to it. Tastes a bit like Adagio’s Ti Kuan Yin, though I do like this one a bit more.
Nice tea, but definitely not worth the price.
Preparation
(shh…. if you get to know your local staff they MAY swap with you out of their own tea stashes, lol)…. i’m the trouble maker that wanders in with tea from paris distracting staff and customers!!! worth a try though, i’ve swapped with teavana staff. again: OUT OF PRIVATE STASHES NOT INVENTORY!!!! sometimes you have to be really clear =0/
Red Leaf Tea – Sample #11
24 June 2014
Dry: Darker green, grassier scent.
Straight: Dark green liquor, brighter, but slightly duller froth on top. Bitter, but not overkill.
Latte: I love my lattes so much okay. The vanilla almond milk definitely helps. It took the bitterness out a bit, and added more sweet :) All in all, a lovely matcha, but I’ve definitely had better from the bunch that I received from Red Leaf.
Colour: 67
Flavour: 72
Bitterness: 72
Suggested Price: $8
Drinking this iced right now and it’s actually really good! Thank you MissB for sending this to me a while ago!
I taste chamomile in this, even though I know there isn’t any. Reminds me a but of Stephen Smith’s No. 39 Fez with the minty/touch of lemon taste, but the rooibos rounds it off nicely. Doesn’t have the woodsy rooibos which I do enjoy!
