Aww I definitely wanted to drink Lupicia’s Cookie this morning, but I’m still trying to organize, and I think that tea got lost in the moving out/moving in process! Oh well, I’ll find it eventually. I have to find it!

Got this from the TTTTB
Dude. This is a great oolong.
It’s not as great as I remembered it, but it’s still pretty good! Tastes closer to a black tea with a touch of honey :)

In other news in my life:
Totally sprained my ankle yesterday, but a good night’s rest made it all better! Sorta…
I’m actually going to willingly walk into a Teavana today with a purpose wow. I’m a Starbucks Gold Card member and I’ve just reached my dozen drinks! So now it’s off to Teavana to get myself some Monkey Picked Oolong because that does seem like a great tea, but no way am I going to pay like $25 for 2oz okay. I love oolongs and I’ll definitely make my way through Teavana’s oolong selection… if I don’t pay for it ahha

Preparation

I’m glad to hear your ankle is feeling better. Take it easy on it, and elevate as necessary. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you! Yesterday was just a bad day for my family. A sprained ankle for me, and my sister fell off her bike on her way to yoga! We’re feeling much better today. Amazing what rest can do :)

Definitely still experimenting with teapop!
I was a bit heavy-handed and I put 7g into my jar, instead of the 5g that I intended!
So 7g steeping in about 5oz boiling water. This actually smells like it’d make a good teapop! It definitely smells like.. the carbonated crystal light like strawberry/raspberry lemonade! Very sweet so I probably won’t sweeten it all that much.
It’s called Gojo POP so it better be good hehe :)

After the whole ice and carbonated water deal, this… still tastes like carbonated water.
Darn it! I don’t want to use too much tea leaves, and I don’t want to put too little water. The concept is fairly simple but I definitely need to work on the proportions of it all.

drank Mango Fruit Punch by DAVIDsTEA

I ran into a big problem today.
It’s the “I have way too much tea and I don’t know which one to try as a teapop” problem! I smelled all my teas and figured that this would make a great teapop :)

6g brewing in about 3oz of water with a slight touch of agave.
Going to strain it over some ice in my mug and top it off with some carbonated water! Let’s see how this’ll taste :)

Teapop is a WONDERFUL concept, I just need to get my proportions right now. It currently tastes like a slightly flavoured carbonated water. I need more Mango Fruit Punch!
I’ll definitely play around with this later on. Add more leaves and more water, less sparkling water! I’ll get it right soon enough :)

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 4 min, 30 sec
Mandy

How about trying to cold brew it in carbonated water?

mj

I never knew about teapop and now I MUST MAKE ONE

Note to self: this tastes SO much better iced as compared to a cold brew!
I had this steeped in the fridge for about 9 hours (4g/14oz) and it tastes a bit medicine-y. I remember drinking it hot and it was HORRID. Like it had te weirdest thick aftertaste to it and it was gross. I dropped ice cubes and it was great! Tried it as a cold brew today, and I think the whole thing with sweetening it as it’s hot and the shock of coolness from the ice cubes brought something else to it, rather than steeping it cold.
Does that even make any sense? Ahh well, now I know :)

In other news, I’M FINALLY HOME. Spent the weekend with my cousins, and tomorrow I’ll be moving into a different building, and Friday is the start of my Program with Disney! Ahh so so SO exciting :)

And I definitely went to the store today just to pick up something from dinner and a couple bottles of club soda and carbonated water so I can make myself some teapop :) I did see seltzer water and tonic water there so I’ll probably pick up those two bottles when I finish the bottles I have. I’ll see which kind of water I like for my teapop :)

Iced 8 min or more 4 g 14 OZ / 414 ML

Ahh this tea. I love jasmine so much, but I still really love my butterfly jasmine much more.
Decent tea. Thank you awoogah for sending me some sachets! I’m at the Hall at church right now waiting for the kids to arrive and I just took some hot water from the coffee machine hehe :) happy that I brought my little tea to-go tin with me :)

Dude. This definitely smells like something I would absolutely despise, but drinking it, it’s sooooo good!
Today is moveout day for everyone, and now that it’s 3pm, everyone has to be gone, but since I’m here for the summer, I’m just taking my sweet time packing everything up :) So this is such a nice refreshing drink to have as I’m packing all my stuff up, getting ready to move into a different building on tuesday! I still have time :)

I brewed this last night in the fridge. Not as good cold as it is hot, but still a wonderful tea :)

This gives me hope! I just ordered this and when I smelled it I thought i had made a huge mistake.

jump62359

It definitely is a very unique tea, with a unique flavour.
I can understand how some people don’t like this tea (like my mother), but I actually really like this one!

Had this cold brewed because Sil said it was pretty good cold!
It’s decent. Still not one of my favourite teas though.
It has a weird ashy texture in my mouth so I tried to dilute it with water and milk which turned out pretty nice!
It’s definitely a unique tea, but probably something I wouldn’t repurchase.

Oh my gosh wow, this is fantastic cold!
I normally don’t enjoying rooibos teas cold, but this one is different. QueenOfTarts said that she enjoyed this more cold, and I kinda have to agree with her! It’s less woodsy, more creamy chocolate.
Definitely a great tea. Great hot, but even better cold! Thank you SO much VariaTEA for sending me like 50g of this! I’m very very grateful :)

Flavors: Chocolate, Cream, Mint

You’re welcome :). I never liked this so I am so glad to have sent it to someone who is enjoying it.

drank Melon White Tea by Lupicia

Why is it that this tea smells like tea fart but tastes like beautiful melon white tea?
Definitely prefer the Golden Honey Dew flavour over this one, it definitely is much stronger. And the white tea I feel is what makes that fart-like scent ahhah
But it tastes wonderful! Just the scent is a bit off putting.

4g/14oz/12hour cold brew

ALSO GRADES ARE POSTED AND I GOT AN A IN FORENSIC ANTHROPOLOGY. A FLAT OUT A.
So another A, A- and a B- comes to a 3.6 gpa which means HELLO DEAN’S LIST.
Dude I’m so happy okay. I worked so hard for these grades and now I can play at the Disney parks all summer long! I definitely feel like I deserved it :)

Also, I went to orientation for the DCP yesterday, and out of 20,000 applications, only 400 students got chosen for the Disneyland College Program. Like wow I feel special. Only 2% got accepted wow.

It’s a good tea pop! :)

jump62359

Oh really!? I’ve never actually had a tea pop before, but it sounds quite interesting! And this does seem like it’d make a great tea pop :)
I read on the DAVIDs site that they use sparkling water, but I’ve seen other people use club soda. Have you tried one or the other? Which do you enjoy?

Roswell Strange

I had it at the store with sparkling water.

jump62359

Okay cool, looks like I’ll be getting some sparkling water on my next grocery visit!

Cheri

I have a sample of this that I’ve been waiting for it to get hot to make.

Tea rating guide:
100-95: Best thing to ever touch my mouth and I want more. Restocking is a must
94-80: Love this tea. Restock if I can
79-70: Decent tea. Neither love nor hate.
69-60: I won’t be upset when it runs out. I’ll drink it but won’t restock.
59-30: I’ve done whatever I can to like this tea and I’ll finish the cup.
29-10: I’ve done whatever I can to like this tea. It may or may not have gone down the sink…
9-below: Let’s not even hide it. This definitely went down the drain.

I love tea.
I drink it.
I log it.
I have a good time.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

I first discovered my love for tea with jasmine teas because that’s all my mother would buy, so for the longest time, I thought that all teas were jasmine! And then in 4th grade, I watched the tea episode of Good Eats and that’s when the education started! I’d like to blame Alton Brown for starting this obsession because now I only like loose leaf tea.
It wasn’t until my second year of college that I actually expanded my tea taste buds. Special shout out to Cara McGee, Tea Queen for her Adagio Fandom blends. Because of Cara, I actually started drinking blacks, herbals and whites and pretty much everything else in between. I still have a special love for my jasmine though :)
I (try to) drink tea daily. Usually just straight up, no sugar or milk. This little obsession started young and just… kept going, I guess.

also I apologize in advance for lazy tasting notes and horrible grammar in everything I write. I was an avid fandom blogger on tumblr and tumblr talk can get in the way of everything kthxbai
