726 Tasting Notes

Freakin boyfriend is such a creep oh my gosh (but he’s fab and it was quite funny ahhah).
So he knows that jump62359 is my everything and he decided to google that and STEEPSTER CAME UP AND HE SAW MY POST OF HAVING TO MEE IN TRAFFIC AHHAHAH
EJ if you’re reading this then hi.
But seriously though. Steepster is fab and I love it tons, but because of my busy schedule, I almost never have time for tea? Tonight is special bc I have things that need to be done and I figured this would be a great tea bc honeybush <33 Roommates were actually very surprised that I was drinking tea like a ‘normal person’ because I didn’t weigh my tea out since I couldn’t find my scale haha. So a couple scoops of this into a disposable filter, and I just topped it off with water.
Lovely tea, proportions are off though since I didn’t weigh it or measure the water because laziness. I have one more serving of this tea left and I’ll make sure to drink it right next time :)
Prepared in store bc I was craving some jasmine, and apparently you get a free refill! Sooo yeah. I got my free refill today and I DIDN’T THINK IT WOULD BE FREAKIN TRAFFIC AT 2PM AND I HAD TO PEE SO BAD AND IT WAS SO PAINFUL WOW but tea was okay. The lady who prepared it didn’t really wash the steeper out so it had the previous taste which was like chocolatey and weird and did not work with this tea at all.
Bummer! It’s annoying when we do it to ourselves but for a tea shop to not clean out the steeper is inexcusable.

THIS BOX IS MASSIVE and there’s so many teas I’ve never had before! This is a definite first.
Nice, sweet, light aroma coming out of the package.
Definitely has that roasted genmaicha smell right when I poured the water in! Now with the matcha, what difference does the matcha make? I haven’t a clue, so that why I’m here to find out!
Hmm.. Tastes like a slightly buttery version of the generic genmaicha I’ve had. Nice, and I can definitely tell the difference between the two.
And back into the box this goes!
Flavors: Butter, Roasted, Toasted Rice
Preparation
Teeny Tiny Tea Box round 2
Backlog!
I went through a chocolate phase not too long ago, and I just had to try this tea! Smells super chocolatey, not getting much mint though.
Not exactly the best tea out there. It went a bit bitter and it may have been my fault for letting it steep a bit too long, but nothing a splash of milk can’t fix! Decent tea, just nothing I would go out of my way to purchase
Teeny Tiny Traveling Tea Box round Two
Drinking this iced right now since it’s STILL SUPER HOT.
It’s a lovely fruity, hibiscus-y tea. It didn’t turn super bitter from the hibiscus, which tends to happen whenever I drink any tea with hibiscus. I think this could have done with a tad more agave, but it’s pretty good!
A nice fruity tea, and back in the box it goes!
I was on Steepster mobile and wrote this note in the wrong tea…
So yesterday I went in to Teavana to pick up my free tea bc Starbucks rewards, and the employees there were kinda frantic and all over the place and they were a bit impatient with ringing me up so they just gave me my tea for free? Service wasn’t too great, but hey, FREE TEA.
So today I decided to visit another Teavana (the one on the way to my Aunt’s) and I was being helped out by Grace and she was LOVELY. I got this tea prepared in store, and got my free ounce of Jasmine Oolong to take home. We talked a bit about tea (of course) and I told her about how I’ve had like half their tea wall already bc I send tea out to friends and they send tea back to me. She said that was one of the best things she heard that day and I’m all I KNOW RIGHT. IT’S THE BEST THING EVER.
Then as I was leaving, I wished her a magical day and it slipped out oops. I’m totally not a Disney cast member. Not at all.
I would be so stoked if a regular person I ran into not at Disney wished me a magical day. Though I might be kinda weird about it and freak them out with my “Oh my god do you work at Disney do you love it are you best friends with Goofy I bet you’re best friends with Goofy…” and so on without pausing for breath. Incidentally, I wish they sold loose leaf tea at Disney World. XD
I used to work at Walt Disney World, and they actually have a tea and spices store in Downtown Disney! It’s in the Spice and Tea Exchange, attached to Mickey’s Pantry and Earl of Sandwich . If I needed a loose tea fix, I always went there when I did my College Program in WDW. Well, there and they also had the Disney Wonderland tea from the regular store.
I should actually give Downtown Disney a fair chance. I went once for a little while and hated it, but it was crowded and there was a lot of construction. I’m going to check out this tea place though, thanks!
See, when I worked, they were just starting construction.
Try getting there earlier in the morning, like before noon! Usually when it hits the afternoon, that’s when everyone heads over to DTD.
It’s not like a massive tea store like Teavana or DAVIDs, but they have a nice collection of blends and smelling jars
Thanks. :)
Also, is it cool if I use your tea rating guide, or something like it, on my profile? I’d credit you. It’d be nice so I can get some consistency with my ratings, most of the time I’m still like “uh, this is good, but what number, out of 101, to give it?” Or, “well, I rated this tea as an 80 but I cant remember what it tasted like; is this tea better than that one? should I give it an 85? 90?” etc. XD
