553 Tasting Notes
I have been on the hunt for the (perfect) to me jasmine green tea. I have been still craving floral teas and have found some pretty great tasting ones and some not so great tasting. I want to give this one a 100 just for finally satiating this craving I’ve been having. Thank you Liquid Proust! I literally looked at the pile of jasmine green teas that I have and thought, what am I going to do with you guys. . .
First steep was very delicate and light. Each flavor was discernible but no one flavor took over another. Very well and lightly done.
The second steep was a different story. My job as a mom interfered with my tea drinking and prepping when I heard my 5 year old hollering and me at the top of his lungs. This tea accidentally oversteeped for about 3 minutes over what the recommended parameters called for. I was prepared to be hit with a bitter brew. The opposite happened. I was greeted with this delicious fresh and crisp tangerine flavor with that jasmine flavor I have really started to love.
So very good and so forgiving. Sigh Just delicious . Thank goodness I have quite a bit of this left.

I love the idea behind this “tea”. Helping the coffee farmers with having a stable year round income is admirable.
The tea itself is unique. The flavor is a cross between a green and black tea. Green grassy notes with a malty flavor that reminds me of a black tea. There is a hint of an herbal tea profile as well. I’ve had a tea before that reminds me of this but I can’t figure out what it was.
Not sure how much I would reach for this tea, but I’m glad I tried it and am excited to try the mint version of it.
Looking over all the other reviews for this tea, it looks like I had the exact same experience. This was good but not the cheesecake flavor I had hoped for. I more compare this to a sweet creamy lemony treat with a hint of a toasted flavor running thru each sip. Still good tho. Very bright and very delicious. Still a fan even if it isn’t cheesecake tea love!

@Pattea: I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with the cheesecake flavor coming through. I recommend letting the tea cool for a little bit (since it’s a black tea & steeped at a higher temperature, I’d recommend 10 minutes cool time) to allow the flavors to develop a little. I hope that will help the flavors come through a little more for you!

Jillian: yes, it technically is. I don’t know what I was thinking when I typed the above note! (Brain fart. That’s my only excuse.) With a green tea – I would allow at least 5 – 6 minutes cool time minimum!
Thank you kieblera5 for this tea (I think I’ve got the right one here.) I haven’t tried many Darjeeling teas in the past so this was a fun try for me.
I’m really digging this unique sweet bite like flavor with each sip. I cold brewed and hot brewed it with about the same results. I didn’t get the mango flavor that was described on the package but I got a sweet like note.
Overall I’m happy I was able to try this and enjoy some time with a new tea.
Peachy White was fantastic mainly because it reminded me of a semi sweet white wine I have at our local winery. So nice. Very peachy so you have to like peach to like this but the last lingering flavor is a bite that is very reminiscent of a wine flavor. I think this would be a great tea soda flavor so I’m going to try that later today. Yum!

Yum Yum Yum Yum Yum! (Can you tell I liked this one?)
This is my first step into a straight oolong and not a flavored one. I’m so impressed. I wish I had brought some with me to work so I could have drank this all day. I’m craving it!
This tea produced such a beautiful roasted caramel sweet delight. I was at the 4th infusion before I had to leave for work so I’m excited for 5pm to come around so I can head home and have more!

This hit the spot. I love Plum Deluxe’s black flavored teas. This one reminds me of orange ice cream but not like those orange dreamsicles (which are yummy as well). The orange flavor has a brighter fresher sweeter flavor compared to a dreamsicle. Not so tart. I’m renaming this tea Orange Love because that is what it is. Creamy Orange Love.
The cream is subtle but definitely there and the black tea base is outstanding. I love this one. Really enjoyed it. Drank this tea while watching Arrow. Anybody watch it? I’m hooked and I’m only on episode 4.For the rest of the rambling about Arrow and this orange treat. . .

This was a great tea for my son’s 10th birthday party yesterday. I didn’t go by the package instructions on how to brew it but instead went with just a simple cold brew. This was pretty good. If I hadn’t read on the package that this was a green tea I would have thought this was just a straight herbal. The pomegranate flavor is the fore front flavor you pick up with the sweetness from the stevia falling right behind. There is hibiscus in this blend but it is slight and only provides a nice contrast to the stevia, giving the tea some tartness. The tea went over really well. So far I’m impressed with this company.

This has nothing to do with your review, but as I think about the amount of jealousy I have when I see all of the interesting tea finds you get to try… I think if there ever becomes an underground league that do unspeakable things, I imagine you being somewhere in the high ranks.

This tea was part of a monthly service from ChaHoney. ChaHoney is a monthly subscription plan that sends you 4 teas from a company so you get to sample them before you decided to place a full fledged order. They don’t create the teas but more or less provide samples from tea companies that maybe you wouldn’t think about ordering from. I kind of like this idea.
This particular box from ChaHoney featured Tribute Teas. A company I had never had any teas from before. First one I tried was this one, 2014 Yunnan Moonlight Buds-White Tea. I am impressed. Sweet, stone fruit like, delicate white tea love hit me all at one from the first sip. I’m now on the 5th infusion and the tea is starting to turn more sour and I’m liking the contrast. Not sure how much more this tea will give, but I’m thinking I’m about at that point.
