I’ve had it a few times now, and I want to like this tea, but I just don’t. I Should like it – citrus and coconut are favorite flavors of mine, and seem like they would pair nicely with rooibos. I think the problem for me is the spices in this blend. Lemongrass (which I’ve never cared for) , plus ginger and pink peppercorns really make this more like a chai. Citrus chai?! It doesn’t work for me (although it may be good with Thai food).
The citrus dominates, there’s very little coconut taste, and the spices don’t balance well with the rooibos or the citrus. I’m not getting much sweetness from the rooibos either, but didn’t think to add sugar/agave. Verdict: for me citrus + sweet = good, citrus + spice = bad. I’m putting this in my “up for grabs” pile (post coming soon).
