1120 Tasting Notes
Since I didn’t like the star anise, I tried brewing up this tea without it. Not really an improvement, unfortunately; the liquorice-esque taste I disliked is gone, but now the liquor tastes much simpler. It’s mostly cranberry in taste, with a bit of cinnamon and orange. Maybe cranberry fans would like this more?
I love blueberries so I had high hopes for this one, but so far it hasn’t impressed me much. The dry leaf smells very strongly and seems very artificial — not necessarily a turn-off, but it wasn’t what I was expecting.
The liquor itself tastes mostly of Adagio’s normal base for flavored blacks, a base that I find to be too strong and bitter for fruit flavors. There’s a blueberry presence that seems much more real than I expected from the scent, but overall this tea is pretty boring.
