I was hesitant buying this tea but I am surprised it tastes very good. Don’t worry you can’t taste the beet! It has a slight earthy flavor with ginger root and hibiscus. Th we ginger is not too strong. It has one billion probiotics per tea bag. I hope this tea helps with my digestive issues.
Flavors: Earthy, Spicy
Sipdown! (98 | 195)
Another one down from the RoT fall sampler!
This tastes just like those caramel apple lollipops that are green with a caramel coating. I mean, obviously there’s rooibos in here, so it doesn’t taste exactly like them, but the flavors are very close. The caramel is sweet and very buttery without much depth, and the apple tastes like a green apple hard candy. The caramel and the rooibos are the strongest flavors, with the apple more in the background. I think I kind of prefer that though, because if the apple were stronger, it would really just taste like a green apple Jolly Rancher. The rooibos has a mellow woody flavor, with no medicinal qualities.
A very pleasant dessert tisane for fall! I’m not sure I would go out and buy it necessarily, but I would certainly drink it if it were in my cupboard. I have a similar tea from Stash, Maple Apple Cider or something? I’ll have to pull that one out soon for an autumnal evening cuppa…
Flavors: Artificial, Butter, Candy, Caramel, Green Apple, Rooibos, Smooth, Sweet, Woody
Preparation
This has a nice strong orange flavor with some spices. I drank it sweetened without milk. It tastes nice, though not super special or anything. I’ve been drinking a lot of teas with this flavor profile lately, and this one wasn’t very memorable. It gets terrible reviews, which it doesn’t deserve. Thanks tea-and-cats!
Thanks to tea-and cats for this tea! I’m enjoying it more than many other pumpkin spice blends. I taste something pumpkin-like, and I also taste some mild spices. I would have liked a bit more power from the spices, but it was still enjoyable sweetened with milk. I put it in the fridge overnight, and today, it’s really a pretty great cup of tea. I get some fruitiness from the pumpkin and warmth from the spices. I don’t taste much black tea, but this one isn’t lacking any depth, so that must be where the black tea is coming in. I would drink this again.
I get a nice orangey flavor here. I don’t necessarily taste the black tea. The flavoring isn’t tangy, sour, or fake. It’s well-balanced and pleasant warm with some sugar. I didn’t taste cranberry specifically, which was fine. Thanks tea-and-cats! I don’t think this was special enough to have again, but it was nice.
I wanted to follow up the theme of chocolate teas today with this tea from getanzt
After 8 minutes of steeping, this smelled like strawberry candy and tasted like a delicate strawberry hot cocoa. I added a little but of milk to make it creamier, but it ended up drowning out the flavors, so I don’t recommend doing that!
Overall, I wish the flavor was stronger, but what is there is tasty!
I’m currently in possession of the latest Reddit TTB, which is always fun. This is the first tea that I decided to try, and it’s quite nice! It’s the loose leaf version, and it’s pretty high quality. I taste a pleasant malty flavor. It goes well with milk and sugar. It could be a little stronger/heartier, but it’s been a good way to start my day!

Ashmanra’s sipdown challenge – June 2023 Tea #2 – June 9 – National Earl Day
Yep, I’m drinking this again! It’s the only Earl I have around at the moment for Earl day. I think it might be the caffeine tea I have been drinking the most of. What an honor for this tea! I’m still not sick of it. It’s very strong with two teabags. I feel like it wakes me up (not many teas do, at this point.) (Criminey, it’s already June 9…)
Ashmanra’s sipdown challenge – May 2023 Tea #6 – An Earl Grey plus tea
As this is the only Earl I brought with me, it will have to do for this prompt. I’m still drinking it possibly more often than any other tea I have. That is saying something! But of course, if I know I have a lot of a tea in the cupboard, I’m probably not trying to hoard it away. Then I’m free to drink it more often than other teas. But it’s a nice robust, strong bergamot. Definitely not a sipdown.
additional notes: Having this one again a month later and raising the rating from 74. I’m surprised I only gave it a rating of 74 a month ago, as there are some real clunkers of bergamot blends out there and this is NOT one of them. This IS a solid Earl – just as long as I use two teabags in a big mug. The flavor is quite good. I really like it. This could be a go-to tea for me, if I’m looking for STRONG, BRISK, TASTY BERGAMOT. It seems like a tea I’d drink at a lighthouse or something… Or great on a sunny yet brisk and windy day (as today is). As whoa, this tea is also brisk yet sunny. It’s a real energy booster and brightener.
Tiffany :) sent me a TON of these teabags! THANK YOU! Luckily I like them! I will be doubling up on them though. Eyeing the CTC leaf, it looks like half a teaspoon in each teabag. It might have been a LITTLE strong, but note to self, use a big mug if you steep two. But I love when an Earl is brisk. The bergamot itself isn’t my absolute favorite, that’s tough to match, but it isn’t bad bergamot at all. Also strong! Well, this IS named “Earl GreyER”. I’m glad I like it… I will have plenty around when I want a solid Earl.
Steep #1 // 2 teabags for big mug // 23 minutes after boiling // 1 1/2 minute steep
Steep #2 // 3 min after boiling // 3min
Flavors: Bergamot, Brisk
When I brew RofTea in my 4 cup pot I use 6 teabags. I am not a fan of bergamot, though, so I haven’t had this one.
For whatever reason my eyes originally read, “Earl Geyser.” Which… would also be a pretty great name for a tea.
Maddy, I’m probably overdo it with this one if I used 6 teabags.
Mastress alita, this tea will probably forever be Earl Geyser for me now. It IS a geyser of briskness and bergamot! haha
Decided to immerse myself in all things Eire today: shamrock green sweater, Irish Whiskey Tea (Teamaze) for breakfast, rereading an installment from “An Irish Country Doctor” series, listening to The Irish Rovers, and this for my work break because, well, green.
I don’t have a lot of matcha experience so this may just be ignorance talking, but it was a little too high on the bitter and vegetal scale for my preferences. I’m lily-livered and want my green teas gentle, sweet-ish, or flavored. No harm done, horizons expanded, and with that, I’ll leave you with this little Irish blessing I found: If God sends you down a stony path, may He give you strong shoes.
This chai is very anise forward, with a bit of cinnamon and pepper in reserve. I’ll agree with the other reviewers here in that it is a rather weak cup. At least it is not bitter or clove heavy so I will say I like this one better than Twinnings Chai.
Flavors: Anise
One of my favorite teas to drink iced in the summer. Super refreshing. Light on the ginger and heavy on the peach and tea flavor. It’s decaf, so it’s a little flat tasting compared to non decaf black tea, but it’s perfect for this blend.
Flavors: Peach, Stonefruit, Tea
Preparation
Thanks to tea-and-cats for this one! I would 100% order this tea. The mint is so fresh and tasty. Green rooibos is the perfect background. It just ends up being a deliciously light mint tea with some extra complexity. The cold resteep is tasty too. I love it!
