149 Tasting Notes
This is not the type of tea I would normally buy. I actually got it for my mom (and of course stole a cup before giving it to her). It’s not overwhelmingly cinnamon, but still too much for my tastes. The apple and rooibos flavors are light. It’s a good tea, just not really for me. Prepared with stevia.
I’m a rooibos fan and I’m a caramel fan, so I absolutely had to try this tea. Some may think it’s a little on the boring side, but I’m really liking it. The caramel flavor is fairly strong and blends well with the rooibos. Some sweetener really helps it meet its full potential. I’m looking forward to trying this mixed with some other teas. Or maybe some shredded coconut. Prepared with stevia.
I purchased this mate because it was really cheap and I wanted to use it to mix with other teas. It’s good for when you want to add a little extra “oomph” to your breakfast tea. I normally mix this half and half with a strong breakfast tea, then steep according to the instructions for the tea. Steeping the mate at a higher temperature doesn’t seem to affect its flavor.
It is unfortunate that this tea is only available during the holidays, because it is really good. Very pastry like, with great vanilla and almond flavor and a hint of cinnamon. It kind of reminds me of a snickerdoodle cookie. The black tea flavor in it is fairly strong as well. Prepared with stevia and (sometimes) almond milk.
