I love smoke in my sheng. I overbrewed a couple steeps of this between spent-soul and broken-body tasking; it held me anyway. Me and the cats and the tea, we’re headed up the mountain… soon, soon… new chapters are exhausting, fam.

Is “heading up the mountain” camping? Do the cats go camping?

So funny you mention that. We thought our one cat was gonna be Camping Cat because she was so fearless. Then she got FIP — we saved her, but she’s no longer fearless. :(

Anyway! We are splitting up the household over here. Incredibly sad and a lot of hard work, but confident it’s the best beautiful thing. I’m moving to the mountains and could not be more optimistic.

I had to look up FIP and if what I found was the right thing, that must have been very scary. It is astounding that she survived that. You must have taken very good care of her, indeed. But of course, that is who you are!

I am sorry about the hard things, and I wish you all happiness on the mountain. The presence of trees is so soothing. My prayers are with you, you beautiful person!

You found the right thing! It was a death sentence up until the year right before she got it — a brilliant researcher in Berkley dedicated his career to finding a cure and was finally successful. Miraculous. It was the most financially and emotionally expensive year I’ve ever lived through, present circumstances included… but she’s my little familiar, and I’d do it all over again!

Thank you so much for the kind words, friend. I am incredibly grateful for this community and for you as a part of it, ashmanra!

I am so grateful for the researchers! My Sammie looked to be near the end last year and his thyroid medicine changed everything! I am amazed that it was only so relatively recently approved for dogs. And so, so grateful.

Sending you hope for great things to come, joy, and comfort as you go through this transition! May the trees and mountain air bring you healing.
