I’m a big Moroccan Mint fan, so when I read that Roseanne, the owner of Telated, had spent time in Morocco as a child, and grew up drinking Moroccan Mint tea, I was curious to see what her blend would taste like. Would stand out against all the other MMs I had tried? I was excited to find out.
It turns out that she offers a beautifully simple tea that is tasty to boot. The gunpowder green tea, spearmint, and peppermint are all organic, and they are blended extremely well. I usually don’t like peppermint in my MM teas because it tends to dominate the cup and I often end up thinking, “if I wanted peppermint tea I would have bought a peppermint tea”. Thankfully, the peppermint works well in this blend and does not drown out the base tea or the spearmint. In fact, all three ingredients can easily be detected in the blend. The gunpowder green tea has a slightly smoky note as well as a bit of earthiness and a dry grass flavor. The mints are naturally sweet but have an herbal flavor rather than being overly sweet and candy-like. I was so pleased with the tea that I couldn’t stop sipping it. It’s very good and very refreshing which is exactly what I’m looking for in a Moroccan Mint tea.Thank you Roseanne and Tealated for letting me sample this tea. I look forward to purchasing it in the future!

I also prefer just spearmint in my MM. My favorite is from Tin Roof Teas in Raleigh, NC and it is their own special blend.
