From Tealated

Moroccan Mint is our founder’s favorite tea! As a little girl living in Morocco for several years she fell in love with tea the first time she tasted it. This refreshing, organic gunpowder green tea is infused with organic peppermint and organic spearmint for a delicious and satisfying treat. Excellent prepared hot or iced!

Use cold, filtered, fresh drawn water and clean teapot or kettle and bring water to 180-185 F degrees. Place 1 tsp. of tea per 8 oz. water in cup or infuser basket. Loose leaf teas can be re-steeped many times. Pour hot water over tea leaves and infuse for 3-5 minutes.

Ingredients: Organic Green Tea, Organic Peppermint, Organic Spearmint

I received a sample of this from Roseanne at Tealated. I like mint teas, but had never really had the Moroccan Mint. The combination of the 3 ingredients in this tea works really well together and I have bee really been enjoying this as an afternoon cup. It is refreshing and almost sweet.

Water: 8oz

Leaves: Various small leaves

Steep: 3m,5m

Aroma: Peppermint w/ a hit of spearmint

Color: Golden Yellow

Taste: Upon opening the tea the scent was pleasant peppermint with a hit of spearmint mix in. As for brewing used 1tsp & steeped the first cup for 3 minutes . As for the taste it was light more so spearmint detected after brewing. A second steep this time for 5m I noticed the flavor profile didn’t change & remained the same. Overall I found this to be an okay light tea. Next time i’m going to try it using more tea leaves to see if I notice any differences.

*update- I used 2tsp and got a better steep more flavor + minty sensation after drinking

Thank You Tealated for the sample

I woke up with a headache this morning and, after reading through some of the posts on the discussion board, decided to make myself some mint tea. This cup is fresh and sweet and reminds me of springtime. It’s a good tea for mid-morning, I think. Here’s hoping it does something for this headache.

Hope you feel better! My head was pounding so bad yesterday that I could barely hear myself think!

Shae

Thank you so much! I’m feeling much better this afternoon though the headache is still lingering a bit. I really hope you’re feeling better today – it sounds like yours was awful!

I’m a big Moroccan Mint fan, so when I read that Roseanne, the owner of Telated, had spent time in Morocco as a child, and grew up drinking Moroccan Mint tea, I was curious to see what her blend would taste like. Would stand out against all the other MMs I had tried? I was excited to find out.

It turns out that she offers a beautifully simple tea that is tasty to boot. The gunpowder green tea, spearmint, and peppermint are all organic, and they are blended extremely well. I usually don’t like peppermint in my MM teas because it tends to dominate the cup and I often end up thinking, “if I wanted peppermint tea I would have bought a peppermint tea”. Thankfully, the peppermint works well in this blend and does not drown out the base tea or the spearmint. In fact, all three ingredients can easily be detected in the blend. The gunpowder green tea has a slightly smoky note as well as a bit of earthiness and a dry grass flavor. The mints are naturally sweet but have an herbal flavor rather than being overly sweet and candy-like. I was so pleased with the tea that I couldn’t stop sipping it. It’s very good and very refreshing which is exactly what I’m looking for in a Moroccan Mint tea.

Thank you Roseanne and Tealated for letting me sample this tea. I look forward to purchasing it in the future!

I also prefer just spearmint in my MM. My favorite is from Tin Roof Teas in Raleigh, NC and it is their own special blend.

Ooh, I’ll have to check them out!

I received a sample of this one too. I’m excited to try it now that I’ve read your review!

@Shae – I’m looking forward to your review! I was thinking about you when I posted this because we had just talked about mint teas! :)
