694 Tasting Notes
This was the tea for the 5th day of Christmas. Thank you Momo! What a perfect tea for the 5th day!
This is another tea that I tried without having the description in front of me. I had a bit of a cold when trying this, so it could have thrown off my taste buds a bit. When I took a sip I got a bit of a almond cookie taste and now reading the descriptions this sounds odd. This was a very enjoyable cup.
This was a sample I picked up when I went into Shang’s store last. I wrote a note at one point and then it must have gotten deleted before saving. I remember liking this enough to want to buy more. It was a sweet green oolong flavor. I will have to add another note if I get my hands on another sample.
This is the tea CelebriTEA gave for the 3rd Day of Christmas. Thank you CelebriTEA!
I usually like to read the description of a tea before tasting so that I know what I am getting into. When I first tried this tea I had left the notes about it at home, so I had no clue. What I did know is that as soon as I tasted it I wish I had a never ending bag of it. It was so nice and comforting on that cold morning. I am sipping another cup now, the last of the sample and I am so sad to see it go. The apple, the cinnamon, the lemon all blend so nicely together to get a really nice tea. Everything is balanced, no one flavor takes over. I am really enjoying this tea!
This was the tea for the 4th day of Christmas, and man what a treat it was. I have been searching for great flavored white teas because I like to drink them before bed. In a lot of white tea I have had the flavor doesn’t come through, that was not the case here. The tea was great hot and cold and the berry flavor was so refreshing. I have definitely added this to my shopping list.
Thank you very much moraiwe!
This is the tea I had picked out for day 2 of the 12 days of Christmas. The description and smell of the tea sounded like a good holiday tea and the name was very fitting to my day 2. It is a black tea with spice and orange which reminds me a lot of the smell coming from the kitchen in the winter time when I was little. My mom would always boil water with orange peel and spices. The taste for me is a bit strong on the spice side. I would like to get more of the citrus flavor from this tea. With a little sugar I do get more of the orange, but would like it to be a little stronger. This is one that I can see my self enjoying every once in awhile, particularly on the cold winter nights.
Preparation
Yummy! This is the tea from Day 1 of the 12 Days of Christmas Tea exchange. Thank you Ellyn. It has been awhile since I have had a fruity tea. This was such a treat. I opened the package and could smell the cranberries and a hint of sweet. My first cup I added nothing and prepared as instructed. I would take a sip and get sweet creamy pear and every once in a while get a hint of tart from the cranberries. My second cup I added a touch of sugar and it was just like eating a sweet berry pie! Yum. This is my first DAVID’s Tea and I really enjoyed it. I might have to try some more of their blends.
Preparation
I wasn’t quite sure how to prepare this. I used one heaping teaspoon with 8oz of boiling water and let sit for 3 mins 30 sec. At first I got a very strong black tea taste. As it cooled I got a bit of the sweet berry and creamy taste I would expect due to the name. The strawberry wasn’t as strong as I would have expected. This tea was okay for me. I will have no problems finishing the sample, but would probably not purchase again.
Preparation
This is the tea that got me into loose leaf tea. I originally liked it because it tasted sweet without having to add any sugar. I picked this up again a few days ago. I tried it straight, I tried mixing it with a black tea, but nothing made me enjoy this again. The cinnamon is too strong and I believe the mate or chemical taste that is coming through just turns me off. I guess my tastes have changed.
Had a cup of this tonight to crave my sweet tooth. I first tried it straight up. It was ok. I think I could have used a little more leaf. I added a little sugar and it really brought out the maple flavor! Yum. I like this. I am going to try another cup and add a bit more. (Preparation: 1tsp/8oz, 3mins @ 212)
