Drinking this because I need to use it up. There is a new Breakfast Tea in my life. This is good, but it is just slightly too smokey for me. I think I will add some milk next time…or did I say that the last time I drank this, and I forgot? Maybe lighter on the tea?

Now after going over my last note on this….I liked milk in the first steep, and the second steep without. See, tasting notes really help!

drank Decaf Peach by Adagio Teas

I probably have about one more big mug of this tea after my cup tonight. I do plan on enjoying it down to the last leaf! It is good, but I have so many others that are like it, so a repurchase is not likely.

This is one I mix up as I go along…maybe a tablespoon or two of each at any given time in a small tin. You never know when you might want the flavors separate as opposed to together.

My evening cuppa for the day…….Lovely, relaxing cup that won’t keep me awake.

drank Chocolate Chip Mint by Custom

I found the Custom brand. Now I have a real space to put all of the crazy concoctions I like to drink. None of my blends are official at Adagio, so this is where all my blends will land.

Listening to my kids practice music and sipping a cup of this blend sweetened, and with milk. This one definitely falls into the favorites, but I still like the Chocolate Mint Black tea from The Tea Table slightly better.

Good. Relaxing. Reliable. Need to brew another cup ASAP. ’Nuff said.

drank Thai Chai by Adagio Teas

My afternoon tea with milk and sweetener. I really enjoy this one on occasion. I am not a lover of Masala Chais as they tend to be overly spicy for my taste. This one is perfect, and I think the coconut and lemongrass add a nice dimension to the flavor of this tea.

I recently purchased this as a sample from Upton. I thought the flavor profile sounded like it would be perfect for me. I was surprised at how much of the tea looks to be yellow tipped. Also, it brews up into a lovely flowery smooth black. I would say the smokiness in this one leans toward a berry note. Definitely enjoyable.

Mmmmmm. A great afternoon pick me up. Definitely a good balance between the bergamot and vanilla, and the smell is divine!

Edited to Add: Darn that this only comes in 250g offerings.

I should probably edit that! I am all out. Otherwise, I would send some. I do like the Teavana version better if it helps.

This one definitely requires milk. I was surprised at the tea leaves in that they were kind of chopped up. I know..I am a breakfast tea noob, because it looked exactly as most breakfast teas look in pictures. I guess I am a full leaf gal, who prefers tea (that is not bakery-type dessert flavor) without milk. This one reminds me of coffee.

I think I am going to go with Mincing Lane for now….at least until something better comes along.

This one is not quite the one for me….since I prefer my non-dessert flavored tea without milk, this is just not working. Right now I am wishing I had sampled a single leaf version of each of the components of this tea to know which one is not fitting for me. If I had to guess, it would be the Ceylon, as the Assam and Yunnan blend I had yesterday was stellar. All in all, this tea just makes me miss Mincing Lane…..

My motto: Drink the good tea!

Tea enthusiast, trying to keep up my cardio for the zombie apocalypse. I have come to accept that I am a western brewing black tea drinker as that is where my ‘tea heart’ lies. I started on loose leaf as a way to have my dessert and not suffer the caloric issues. Once I tried it, I was hooked.

I drink what I like, which is mostly China blacks, a few traditionally scented blacks and Earl Greys, plus a flavored tea here and there. I don’t mind spending a bit on premium varieties on occasion, but an expensive tea has to deliver. My favorite places to order are Harney & Sons and Upton Tea Imports. TeaVivre is great for Chinese tea.

My ratings are pretty subjective. If it falls under 70, I may not take the time to post about it unless I had something specific to say. If it is 70-80 I like it, but I will probably not rebuy. Favorites are over 80 and up, but sometimes the less expensive or more easily obtainable version of a similar taste will win out for my cupboard space.

Usual teapot steeping method: 24 oz teapot, 3 perfect scoops of tea (4 1/2 actual tsp), freshly boiled water, 4 minutes. Lightly sweetened.

Usual mug steeping method: 15 oz mug, 1.5 perfect scoops of tea (just over 2 actual tsp), freshly boiled water, 4 minutes. Lightly sweetened.

Usual pan method: 1 1/2 cups water, 2 perfect tsp chai (3 actual tsp). Simmer for 3 minutes. Add 2/3 cup skim milk. Simmer for 2 more minutes. Strain and sweeten.

Usual pitcher method:
5 or 6 Perfect Spoons of tea (this means about 7-9 actual tsp), freshly boiled water, brewed essentially double-strong in my 24 oz teapot for 4 minutes. Fill my Fiestaware Disc pitcher (about 60 oz.) halfway with ice. Add brewed double-strong tea to the pitcher. Stir it a little and enjoy. No additions.
