15350 Tasting Notes
Mmmmmm reeived my verdant order in the mail today and realized that I need to try a few of the blends before I go on vacation in case I need to. Order more before they slip away for good. Since I’d had a bit of along day I decided to try this one first for a relaxing evening tea. First steep and what I get here is all about the minty goodness with just an adage of chamomile to blend it I nicely. No chocolate yet but we’ll see what future steeps bring. Quite happy with this one as its a great evening tea…relaxes me.
Hard to believe i’m the first to review this on Steepster, especially since I know that according to their website Azzrian has tried this! However, maybe something happened in the database or something. In anycase this is a lovely chai. I don’t make it with milk or honey – it’s straight up for me. This particular Masala Chai is very smooth and blended well. It wouldn’t be my go to chai, but in a pinch it will do. I prefer the tastes that are in verdant’s chai but this is still a really nice blend. I really enjoy trying different chai’s to see how different companies blend the spices.
Soooo i’m a little sad today. I finished off the last of my caramel matcha – the first matcha i ever tried from redleaf! The good news is that I should soon have another version of the caramel to try as long as the canada post cooperates with me. I blended this 2:1 ratio with the cheesecake matcha in my smothies this morning and my god it’s wonderful! I’m already considering ordering another large size of this same caramel in case i don’t like the base of the one coming. I kinda of wonder how long 30g should last if you’re using one teaspoon in a serving. Maybe i’ll be god and track the next one to see how long it takes me to go through :)
Either way, I am 100% satisfied with my matcha adventure with red leaf. Not sure how i’m goin to survive with no matcha for a week on vacation…hmmmm…
Trying this one again as I’m trying to narrow down the teas I want to try or purchase from Della Terra. While I love this one in theory, there’s a bit too much cinnamon. I love the chocolate and the richness of this tea and then the cinnamon hits. Now I really enjoy cinnamon but in this blend it interrupts the great blending that is going on. Still a decent tea but I’d love a version with a bit less cinnamon.
Pretty sure this as a sample from kittena? But might have been indigobloom. Either ay I’m happy to try this one even if it doesn’t knock my socks off like laoshan black does :) I did multiple short steeps and while I can appreciate the variety of flavours that came from the different steeps, it just wasn’t my favourite. It’s a lovely cup of tea, don’t get me wrong, I would recommend this to those who enjoy their oolongs.
So I think I have this figured out. The pear flavouring is too strong for me. I ordered the robust flavouring since that’s worked out well for me with cheesecake and caramel, but I think in the pear it’s too intense. I made a pear smoothie this morning and it was waaaaaay intense. I had to back it off with twice the amount of milk that I usually use and it was then that I got the hint of how amazing this would be with the delicate flavouring. I think this is also because pears in general don’t have a super intense smack you in the face taste. They’re delicious and wonderful but also subtle. Now, all that being said, I’m super happy that I think I’ve figured it out so my next reorder of pear will try the delicate flavouring. :) overall still love this matcha, just not quite as much as the cheesecake and caramel.
This might be my favorite Della terra tea at the moment…. Really nice fall tea for those colder evenings. Enjoying this one tonight while I relax. Rally exhausted from the gym today, think I may be fighting getting sick.
If your sick Sil I don’t want it :D you know what’s good for colds? GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE!! well it could be…
Lol Helena….wish I had some but I’ve been waiting for my order to get here forever…I’m actually going to be a bit concerned if I don’t get it Monday since its been like 11 business days :( wanted to try those teas before placing another larger order for things including YOUR tea :)
yeah it usually takes 10+ days to get to Canada so I order in advance and large quantity of the good stuff (a.k.a. Good Morning Sunshine) last time I got 4oz and I think 4oz of Almond Indulgence :D
Yeah…it’s never taken the full 10 to get here for anything for me. One of the benefits to living in a major city in Canada. Heh
Winnipeg is a province capital and it still takes forever :D however I’m more than willing to wait since it’s sooo tasty :D
Home from working out and then going to idea and Canadian tire to look for various things as well as find possible ideas for storing tea in our little apartment. Exhausted from all that so I decided to treat myself with a pear latte, thought tossed in a dash of caramel matcha as well. I love how easily I can make a warm tasty beverage that’s has a little more to it than tea. Pear plus the creamy goodness of milk. Mmmmmm
