drank Maple Sugar by DAVIDsTEA
1113 tasting notes

Thankfully I had Reeses Puff flavored milk during breakfast to wash this down with… this might be a dry rub mislabeled as tea; David you should look into that, maple sugar ribs are good!
:p

Fjellrev

Dry rub! Now I have absolutely zero interest in ever trying this haha.

Cwyn

Are you sure this is tea and not maple sap sugar? Basically that would be maple sap boiled into a sugar form rather than maple syrup. Maple sugar is sold as a sweetener either loose or in cake form.

“rare oolong from small garden in Lam Don, Vietnam” the package says… Well, it can’t be that small if David’s Tea can sell it all around. Anyways, this tea looks nice but taste no different than Muyi’s dong oolong I bought in Japan for $3 (1.8ounces) so I really can’t rate this high because Muyi’s quality wasn’t that good compared to other darker green oolongs that are out there.

After the movies last night my friend and I steeped this six times as we talked. This is very smooth and thankfully there isn’t a bitterness so I now know of a sheng that I like! This tea looks as dark as a shou which is interesting, but this is not true once it’s brewed. Even if there was only enough for two sessions included for May’s Global Tea Hut, I do really enjoy this because it taste quite good. Good tea for getting tea drunk at night :)

drank Lychee Konnyaku by ETTE TEA
1113 tasting notes

First, thank you Nicole for organizing a group order. I have been eyeing Ette on Instagram for awhile but the amounts and cost steered me away.
I thought this would brew a cup that smells like mid 50 year old women perfume smell… but, instead it smells nasty. If it tasted like it smelled this tea would be doomed. However, it does not. There is an interesting taste to this, I won’t associate it with lychee because I’ve ate them before and they are different than what I am tasting. It’s a fruity taste, but a warm semi dry fruit taste. Overall this is smoother than I thought it would be as a hot steeped green tea with fruit in it. I shall cold steep it now as well!

Liquid Proust

Just read the ingredients of this tea… it’s less appealing now :/

drank Ginseng Oolong by DAVIDsTEA
1113 tasting notes

I drank 16ounces of this with my bbq brisket omelet I made this morning. I find that the leaf used for this this is a higher quality than some other ginseng oolongs I’ve seen/tasted, but at the same time after about 6ounces of this (possibly all ginseng teas) this becomes quite dry and harsh on the throat. I finished the cup because it had a nice taste, but maybe ginseng is meant for smaller quantities. Either way it paired nice with my omelet somehow.

gmathis

Mmm! The omelet sounds yummy!

So I’ve brewed this for the last two days and it’s been quite a nice dark oolong, but today it’s fantastic. I finally figured out how to brew it and get all its strength out :)
The best way to brew this that I’ve found is at 188-190f in a french press. Brews very dark, smells very bold, and taste strong. Fantastic darker oolong, I look forward to more from Wuyi Mawuyan

alinanra

I found it in a WuYi tea shop and I was thinking if I would buy or not. Thank you for the note!

College Graduation Party Tea #6
So the night should end with a nice tea, right?
I decided to pick something that I only have a sample of to end my drinking tonight and decided with the Fuji Apple oolong. While the taste of this is a milder TGY there is something very ‘eh’ about it. The apple isn’t a taste with this tea, it’s a scent that is absorbed in the mouth. It’s hard to describe, but I am unable to do so. I have a few more M&K Teas left and I hope to find one that is worth purchasing a sampler pack because so far they sound and look amazing only to let me down in taste.

mkstea

Andrew, forgive me, I have failed you:( I’ll ship you a free Fuji apple to you as an apology.

Liquid Proust

You don’t need to, I’ll be coming back for that rare sampler anyways because who else sells black rooibos?

College Graduation Party Tea #5
While this the third review I am writing up for my graduation party for teas drank, this was the fifth. Third was cold brewed peach and fourth was a cold brewed lime marshmallow from Butiki. This was an excellent fruit green hot, normally I don’t find green teas to taste very good when they are warm. Surprisingly there wasn’t much of smell to this, but the taste was there which is what I want from my tea :)

College Graduation Party Tea #2
I probably shouldn’t have picked this out because of my other experiences with Dreamweaver’s teas having the scent issue, however blueberry sounded good. No blueberry flavor but decent green leaf.

drank Buddha's Blend by DAVIDsTEA

College Graduation Party Tea #1
Dear David’s Tea… are you kidding me? The label for this tea says 90c/194f for 4-5 minutes. Anyone who tries these recommendations, just like me, will hate the drink and toss it out. I may be an avid tea drinker, but I try to follow directions… I appologize to all those who tasted such a nasty mess, who suggest 194f for a white/green tea blend with jasmine in it anyways.
I am willing to bet the rights to timetravel that Buddha himself would not approve of this tea.
