345 Tasting Notes
I got this sample and two other teas from a promotion that is over for now.
Earl Grey makes me happy and I thought this would help me want to get things done that needed to be done but not keep me up all night cause I need to get up early.
The tea bag smells of light peppery poultry seasoning. Normally I steep Earl Grey about 3-4 min, I left this one in because of how weak it tasted and I thought it may improve later. After about 10 min it taste stronger and is drinkable. It taste lemony and smells like a lemon scented cleaning product.
The good news is I’m excited to wake up in the morning to start my day with the cup of Earl Gray I wanted to have tonight.
I searched last Summer for this tea because I love coconut and I love chai. When I found it I was disappointed. I think a may be biased and think I only like black tea chai.
I tried to keep an open mind tonight and followed the directions on the can(I normally think my way is the right way). The coconut is not over powering and does not have an artificial taste like some other teas I have tried. The spices are not as strong as I’m used to either.
I think I could grow to like this and maybe finish the can if I try, but I would rather find this with black tea and toss this one.
London Drugs, if there’s one near you, carries this in all of it’s variations (rooibos, green and black).
I looked it up and I don’t have a London Drugs in Texas, maybe next time I’m in Canada. I have a few stores I’m going to check tomorrow and I’m sure I could find it online if not. Thanks MissB!
My 11yr son and I are drinking this as a latte while watching Aladdin. He chooses this tea 3-4 days out of the week when asked. I don’t normally like rooibos but I thought this would be a fun one to drink with him at the end of the day and it is. I even had him make it as I told him what to do in hopes that he will someday start my tea before I get out of bed. We enjoy it and someday I will try and describe it better.
I got this as a sample. The first time I tried this it taste like coffee,I don’t know why. I could hardly drink it cause I was not in the mood for weak coffee.
This time I tried it and it still taste like coffee. I know coffee cake does not normally taste like coffee and nothing in the description would lead me to think this. Maybe something is wrong with my taste buds.
I would not mind having an extra sample for when I’m in the mood for coffee but don’t want to make any but I would not buy it.
One of their pu-erh’s, I’m blanking out on which one right now, tastes an awful lot like coffee. Could well be coffee pu-erh? I may have some here that I can send to you. Or, post in the forums about suggestions for coffee-replacement teas?
Thanks MissB I think I would like to try the coffee pu-erh if you have any. I was afraid to try a pu-erh because of what I have read but I think I might like this and if not it would still be fun to try. I’m pretty sure I want to purchase a couple of things from your sell list. I will try and let you know soon.
