drank Valentines by Adagio Teas

It is tradition to take your Christmas Tree down the Sunday after Valentines, right? I’ve had all the ornaments and decoration put away since around New Years but I keep making excuses as to why I should leave the tree up. I never followed through with my pretend holiday plans so we finally took it down. I already miss it, half jokingly I told my husband we should put it back up.

I was excited to have a holiday tea for Valentines and my husband even shared a cup with me. Within the last few days I’ve tried it hot with and without sugar and milk and iced with nothing added. I enjoyed it more iced but it just mostly tasted like lightly sweetened iced tea, i got a little chocolate taste at room temperature. I was a little disappointed it did not taste like a chocolate covered strawberry but, I most likely would not like it then. Although I did not seem impressed while drinking it I always wanted more just moments later.
Thanks moraiwa for letting me try this. It was fun!

Wow, this taste good warm! I really was not expecting to like this warm. My mouth instinctively wants to chew when I have a mouth full, as if I’m realy eating this juicy fruit. I like it even more iced, very refreshing. Thank you so much MissB! I love this tea even more than I thought I would. I will definitely be ordering some soon. Yum

I’m surprised on how much it taste like red hots, cinnamon hearts, cinnabears, especially when I add just a sprinkle of sugar. I tried looking for cinnamon hearts to send with recent packages with this tea but I could not find any.

Before joining Steepster I purchased this from DAVIDs after reading reviews from here. Thanks everyone for the reviews they are very helpful on buying something before trying it.

I purchased this from BrewTEAlly. She had suggested this based of my love for Earl Grey. I decided to go for it even though I had previously looked it up and was not interested at all in trying this tea based off of the ingredients.

I’m having a hard time describing this tea and the best I can do is say It smells like a Christmas candle but taste like bread with cinnamon and a little orange.

It took me a while to figure out what it was about this tea that made it so unique from other teas with similar ingredients: orange peel, cinnamon and clove. It’s the tea base, Laoshan Black and Zhu Rong. This is one of the first black teas I have tried that was not a normal “candy” tea base. I had no idea I was missing out and I look forward to trying other teas with these teas as the base.

I’m in love with this tea and I hope they make it again or I can find a pouch to hide because I only have enough for about half a cup.

Thanks MissB for this sample! It reminds me of a tea I would have bought from Teavana years ago before joining Steepster and now I am able to keep track of what I have had.
This tea smells wonderful and tropical, I can smell peach only because I know it is in there otherwise by brain would not be able to name the familiar smell. I can taste light peach and other stuff that I don’t know. It taste good iced.

drank Eight Candles by Della Terra Teas

Thanks MissB! I received this sample from her tea sale and I’m so glad I did. Samples are my new favorite thing. I love the variety, less boredom and I’m more likely to try something I normally would not. I think someday I may get a sample box from Dell Terra, not sure yet.

This smells like a chocolate cereal with marshmallows and taste like watery hot cocoa mix in a good way. It must be the marshmallow, I was beginning to think this is the first chocolate tea I have been able to drink without turning it into a latte to mask the smell and taste. I was wrong, there is no chocolate. That must be why I don’t have a problem drinking it. I’m glad I tried it and look forward to trying other teas with marshmallow flavoring and someday finding a chocolate tea I like.

Yvonne

Ooh, I’m looking forward to this one myself!

MissB

Glad you’re enjoying it! I love swaps and sales on here, I end up trying and loving things I would have just glossed by otherwise.

I bought this for the tin and my new realization that I love Earl Greys and would like to try more kinds just for fun.
Hot: I made this hot a few times and just can’t figure out how I like drinking it and don’t want to waste more cause
Iced: I love it, taste nothing like I expected but I am new to “creamed” Earl Grey. It tasted like an orange creamsicle. I’ve made this iced and love it every time. My favorite is iced with 1/2 a teaspoon of sugar.

drank Salted Caramel by DAVIDsTEA

Today it taste like a sweet vanilla almond black tea and a little salt. Most times I do not notice the salt and only once, I tasted to much salt. I realized I have not had a food or drink that was salted caramel without chocolate to compare this to. So, for my second cup I added about a tablespoon of cream and 1/2 a teaspoon each of sugar and Special Dark Chocolate cocoa. It was delicious and tasted like salted caramel chocolate. I’m happy they did not add chocolate to this because I enjoy it on its own also. I also mix it with a plain black when I don’t want something as sweet and like it that way also.

I made this for me and the husband this morning. He normally only drinks chai with a lot of milk and sugar but we are both tired of chai for now cause we have been drinking a lot of Eggnog Chai lattes the last few days to get rid of the eggnog.

He was open to try something new this morning so I made this as a sweet latte for him and I added most of the foam to mine with a splash of milk. I don’t think it needs it just makes the experience more fun. He liked it and said he always wondered what Earl Grey taste like. Oops, maybe next time I will make him a normal Earl Grey. I’m not sure he would like normal Earl Grey but I may be wrong.

I’m not very picky when it comes to Earl Grey yet, since I’m still new to drinking tea all the time. This has a nice smooth creamy taste when I steep it correctly. I also taste a vanilla, and a tiny amount of licorice with the bergamot not as strong. I’m excited to try others in the future don’t think this will be a favorite. I’m happy to have it in my cupboard for now when I don’t want something as strong as “normal” Earl but still want the comfort and happiness Earl brings me.

I feel I have lost part of my identity.
I was addicted to coffee until I got sick Dec 1 2013 and since then I have had 3 6 cups of coffee(I lost count but it’s not everyday and I don’t enjoy it like I once did). Now all I can think about is tea. I do not know if this is a phase or not but I’m enjoying it.

I’m having fun trying dessert teas right now. It has helped me eat less without even trying and I have lost a few unwanted pounds which surprised me during this past holiday season.

I love Earl Grey, Earl Grey Cream, Vanilla black teas. I like straight blacks I just don’t know how to describe them yet. I have a hard enough time describing flavored teas.

Please don’t pay attention to my notes, my taste changes all the time and sometimes if I only try something once I don’t always get the opportunity for it to grow on me or understand it better.

Steepsters is the best community!
I love everyone here :)

I’m a stay at home mom/wife most of the time and work part-time at a local coffee shop.

I’m looking into knitting just so I can make cozy for my Timolino.
