So lately, I’ve been making 2 or 3 cold steeps at a time. I lose track of what’s in what cup. I’ve started making a list on my computer to remind myself when I forget. which is all the time. Today, I had two cups to choose from when I got home from work. Since I didn’t remember what I was steeping, my choices were fruity smell green or creamy smelling white. I’m proud of myself for being able to distinguish that much from scent alone. :)

I went with the fruity one. Still having no idea what the heck I was drinking, I started to try and figure out the flavors. I got whats likely a bancha or sencha. Pineapple. Something like orange peel. A floral bitterness and sweetness from the fruit chunk, probably. A hint of strawberry.

Looking at my record, I see that I’m drinking Green Tea Fruit Smoothie from TeaEqualsBliss! And I’m not too far off! I guess the bitterness made me think of orange peel instead of mango. It’s not really terribly bitter, but it does detract from the experience. I should probably cold brew for less time with this one. It’s been about 20 hours since I put this in the fridge.

Anyways, refreshing and much appreciated chilled fruity tea after work. Especially since the water cooler ran out of water at work. So thirsty!

and for those of you who are curious, the creamy white turns out to be Coconut Creme. I’m so awesome. :)

Let me show you my Tea of the Day cupboard: http://beautsgirl.tumblr.com/post/26952031096/my-beloved-teas-of-the-day-cupboard-aka-how-i This is how I keep track of what is cold steeping in the fridge. I try to have three pitchers done at all times and one steeping to refill when a pitcher empties. As you can see, I tend to go through a tea a day, and I write the date I put it in the fridge. So I very much understand your system!

I came from a tea drinking family, but I never appreciated the different qualities and varieties of tea until older. All that time wasted! But I guess I needed to be mature enough to appreciate the tea experience. :)

My favorite teas are green oolongs and white tea. I also love greens, especially gyokuro. I have a huge appreciation for rooibos and honeybush as they are often that only thing I can drink in the evening. I am a relatively new convert to black teas. This is unfortunate for my wallet but extremely wonderful for my palate. :)

In any case, I have a love for both flavored and unflavored teas. They are different experiences for sure, but both enjoyable. I find that it often depends on my mood.

I am on a quest to find a tea that will win my husband over. I think I’m making some headway…
