73 Tasting Notes
Ok so this one is from a small place in my small town called “Bonté divine”. It’s a tea place / small restaurant and the couple that owns it create their own blends, which are usually amazing.
This one smells and tastes very floral, sweet and peachy. I don’t know what the exact ingredients are, but I know the base is a green tea from Japan and the name of the tea translates into “Flower from Japan”. When I read the description and comments of David’s Tea “Three Wishes” (that I have never tasted) on Steepster, it reminded me of this one and made me crave it. It’s amazing and I wish this small place from my small town could become famous ! :)
I’m so excited !!
Ok first I have 2 things to say, both are related to tea but not to this particular one. I’ll get back to it later.
Sooooo I’m super excited because I went to David’s Tea website and I saw they have a new tea. I expected their next new blend to come out in Frebruary as the “tea of the month” so I’m very super excited right now! I need to try it ASAP. It’s a minty black tea with coconut : I love black tea, I love mint, I love coconut! And I love the name, too : Mint to Be. How nice!
Anyway so that was my first excitement, the other one is this : David’s travel mugs are awesome ! The kettle at work was broken and I didn’t know if they would have changed it or not (and they have ! yes!!) so I brought a second travel mug full of boiling water, hoping it would still be warm enough later so I can make a second tea. Oh well, 5 hours later and I still burnt my tongue! Awesome :)
Ok, so, enough babbling. Chocolate Rocket is one of the first chocolate teas I’ve tried and I loved it instantly. The smell alone is intoxicating. I can taste both the chocolate and the raspberry and it fits perfectly with the earthy taste of the mate. Yummy. The only downside comes from me and not the tea itself : I’m very sensitive to caffeine so just a few sips of this gives me a big buzz. Oh well. I guess sometimes you need just that right?
Also another one of my samples from the Sweet Indulgence gift box. It smells very fruity and sweet, and the taste is very similar but I feel like it should taste more than that. It happens a lot with fruity teas, especially herbal teas. I want them to taste strong and they eventually disappoint me a bit. But I still like this one, although I’m not sure it’s really mango I’m tasting. Hard to tell.
I understand why this is one of David’s best sellers. It’s amazing.
Just looking at it and I’m in love. I simply adore those little red lips and mini-chocolate chips. I could just eat them (which I’ve done a couple of times, obviously).
This tea is just the right amount of chocolate, mint and creamy goodness. Love love love !
I got this one as a sample with one of my online orders. When I opened it, I immediately thought it smelled like carrot cake, and I was not wrong as there are actually some carrots in it! Interesting.
I’ve liked it a lot the first time I tried it, but today when I drank my last cup of it I felt like it was a less interesting version of Glitter & Gold. It’s quite similar in taste : both are very sweet and spicy. But I think Glitter & Gold is tastier. Anyway this one is also good and very drinkable on a cold day like today ! Better stay inside and drink lots of hot tea :)
I went to the dentist this morning and the whole left side of my face was totally numb for many hours… it was horrible. It still hurts when I open my mouth and the air feels weird against my teeth. Bad weird. Arf.
Anyway so this one was the first I had today, early afternoon because I couldn’t really afford to drink anything hot this morning ! I’m actually not really sure how I feel about this tea. It’s quite nice I guess but there’s something in the taste (and the smell) I don’t really enjoy. Could it be bergamot ? I’ve actually never had any standard Earl Grey before, so I can’t really compare. Anyway I’m happy I got to try it as a part of the Sweet Indulgence package but I don’t think I’ll ever buy it again.
This is the only rooibos I’ve tried so far that I can say really like. And that’s because it doesn’t taste at all like rooibos. I can’t even smell it in the blend and usually it automatically puts me off, even if I can smell it only a little.
I’m really enjoying it tonight as my last cup of the day. It’s nice and warm, very different from the other chais I’ve ever tasted. It’s mostly ginger, with a sweet aftertaste of coco. Yummy.
I only had a few servings of this because I bought it as a part of the Sweet Indulgence gift box, and I just finished my last cup. I’m very sad to see this one go as it was love at first sip !
It’s so sweet and tart at the same time, just like a lime. What I like the most is how creamy this is. I thought it would simply be a lime tea (which would also have been very good), but they really got the “gelato” in there. So creamy. Love love love !
I love peppermint and chai and I’ve recently read the description of a chai tea with some mint in it, so I decided to mix those 2 teas from David’s Tea together and see.
I love it ! It’s very nice. Spicy and comforting, just perfect on this very cold afternoon. I put 1 tsp of each, but next time I’ll try with a little less peppermint as it can be overpowering and I don’t taste Pure Chai as much as I would like in it. I might also try it with Spearmint instead of Peppermint next time, we’ll see.
