270 Tasting Notes
Finally settling in after the move. Half of my tea stash has been misplaced though! That’s what I get for having family help pack! Now that I’ve taken my second licensing exam and am waiting for permission to take the next, I can slow down a bit, possibly find the rest of the tea, and enjoy it.
When I drank this a few days ago, the page wouldn’t load. I had it straight then and it was a bit bitter to me (although most black teas are to me, I’m getting better though!). Today I made this as a latte, my go to preparation for this one. It brings the right kind of sweet into the mix . I get less of the chocolate taste this way, especially since I had to use a tea bag today, but it makes for a great morning drink!

Lots of ups and downs in life lately. My company and my dog are all sleeping. Time to have a little help with sleep. I love this tea.
First attempt at a tea pop. 3 tsp in 8oz for 2 min, some ice and 2 cups of sparkling mineral water. Ended up tasting very watered down and I think I need to find a different source of bubbles as this was pretty flat.
Preparation
Due to the lower rating and the hit and miss nature of black teas for my current palate, I decided to make this sample as a latte. The smell tingles in my nose in a mostly pleasant way. Taste wise, it seems as if something is missing, possibly as this is an old sample. Maybe I want more maple because I like syrup. Happy to have tried this but with so many out there yet to do the same with, this won’t make it on an order.
Today is a treasured day off. Planning to use it to get caught up on studying and drink down some of my samples and older teas. Made this sample one as a latte as it is becoming my morning ritual to do so while I put dishes away. I’m not usually a fan of Chai teas but as a latte this is more than just drinkable. I get the cinnamon and maybe a tiny bit of heat but that is mostly hiding. Overall, tasty for someone who usually doesn’t reach for something “spicy”. I’m not going to rate this one as I don’t plan on buying it again.
Preparation
Did this as an overnight cold brew. I added Truvia right before I walked out the door to work. That was the only part that was unpleasant as doing that made it grainy. I find this blend to be quite interesting and look forward to more experiments this summer with it.
The “leaf” of this one is gorgeous. I get a strawberry/apple smell from it with something that I can’t identify and can’t decide if I like it or not. It tastes more apple-y than strawberry sadly (at least this cup, I can see different scoops of different “leaf” materials changing the taste). I think I’m also getting a floral taste out of this, which is strange for me. The addition of Truvia brought out even more fruit flavor, tasty!
Preparation
Found this in my sample drawer last night while I was inventorying and organizing for this weekend’s get together. I don’t yet have something to shake matcha in nor do I have the bowl and whisk. Latte it is.
I’m getting a sort of powdery feel in the back of my mouth on the first few sips of this, not pleasant. Maybe I need less matcha? I put in 3 tsp like usual. Stirring doesn’t take away this sensation. I don’t know what I did but I don’t think I will be able to finish drinking this before I leave for work :/
