drank Caramelized Pear by Art of Tea
1112 tasting notes

Luscious! Completely fantastic rooibos dessert tisane! Caramel and fruitiness (pear, but faintly sweet fruity real pear) and the rooibos adding depth and holding everything together. I added a splash of milk and it was so dessert-y and everything I wanted in an after dinner tisane!!! So so good!!! My husband said “This one is great!” I said “This is one of the three rooibos tisanes Jamie sent! I think I like this one the best!” and he said “They were ALL good!” in the most serious voice ever. :) :) :) I think I simply must place an Art of Tea order (even though I need tea like I need a hole in the head) because finding after dinner tisanes we both love so much is pure gold – pure caramelized pear gold!!

So glad you liked them! I absolutely love this one, too. I get it as a latte at Cuppa all the time…they make it with caramel syrup!

If there’s any more Art of Tea’s blends you’re eyeing and want to try out, just let me know!

Jaime – I’m going to place an order soon, because I am also in love with one of the brewing cups they have on their site :) Eeeee!

Oh, I’ve not looked at the brewing cups on their site…just glanced through the teas to see which ones I want to ask Lisa to bring into the shop. Must resist!!

I love to cook, bake, read, paint, knit, do needlework, and garden. I need my coffee, but I LOVE my tea. I work at an Art School, and attend a large public university doing post-bac work (my BA is in English). I’m interested in the liminal spaces between art and craft, the academic and the practical, the individual and community, and the old and the new. I’m currently exploring these ideas through the disciplines of education, literature, history, and psychology.

I enjoy writing tasting notes, but have decided not to numerically rate teas as of 9/14/10. For an explanation, see my looooong tasting note about Mountain Malt from the Simple Leaf.

My favorites:
Chinese black teas
A good “milk and sugar” English style black
Earl Grey (classic, and in all variations!)
Vanilla teas (classic, and in all variations!)
Jasmine, Rose, Violet and other froofy, flowery teas!
An Occasional Oolong
Flavored Rooibos
Herbal Tisanes
