986 Tasting Notes
While brewing, this tea smells just like a ripe, juicy peach…and the flavor does not disappoint! It has a delicious smooth, fruity peach flavor that beautifully compliments the black tea base. You don’t notice the ginger at first, but there’s a nice spicy aftertaste that lingers long after the last sip. This is one I hate to run out of!
Flavors: Fruity, Ginger, Peach, Spicy
Preparation
I expected a much stronger vanilla flavor and was initially disappointed by how little I tasted the vanilla in this tea. But now that I’ve adjusted to what it’s really like, I actually quite enjoy it. The rooibos flavor is pretty strong, but it is pleasantly mingled with apple and cinnamon and that little hint of vanilla. There’s also a bit of sweetness to the aftertaste. It’s still not my favorite, but it’s an easy, soothing option for a bedtime tea.
Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Rooibos, Vanilla, Wood
Preparation
I find myself reaching for this tea often. It’s one of the most warm, flavorful, comforting teas I’ve tried so far. It tastes like chocolate-covered toasted almonds with just a hint of vanilla. It makes an AMAZING tea latte, but is also delicious with just a splash of milk or even plain. I don’t find a need to sweeten it at all; it is delicious all on its own! I highly recommend buying the loose-leaf version rather than the tea bags; I’ve tried both and the loose-leaf has much more flavor. I always have this one on hand.
Flavors: Almond, Chocolate, Nuts, Roasted, Vanilla
Preparation
I received a single bag of this tea with my last Republic of Tea order and really enjoyed the sample! It was surprisingly smooth and mellow, not tart like I was expecting. It steeped up very flavorful. I could definitely taste both the citrus and the cranberry, but the black tea base came through as well. Overall, it was very tasty, and I would definitely consider purchasing this at some point in the future.
Flavors: Blood Orange, Cranberry, Fruity
Preparation
I received a sample of this with my last Republic of Tea order. It was a nice, basic fall tea. Cinnamon is the strongest flavor, but you can also taste the apple and the orange peel as well. It has a very warm, comforting flavor and aroma and a nice hint of sweetness. However, it really wasn’t anything special and I find it a bit pricey. Probably won’t be purchasing this in the future.
Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Clove, Orange Zest, Sweet
Preparation
This tea has a very bright, slightly sour citrus taste with just a bit of a floral flavor to it as well. It becomes quite bitter if you over-steep it. Personally, I prefer my citrus teas to have a strong second flavor to balance out the citrus and keep it from becoming overpowering, so this one wasn’t my favorite.
Flavors: Citrus, Citrus Zest, Floral, Sour, Tart
Preparation
This was an enjoyable iced tea; I definitely wouldn’t recommend drinking it hot! Sweetened, it’s just like drinking limeade. Unsweetened, it’s a very refreshing summer tea. It brews up to a nice pale green color and has a strong (but not too tart) lime flavor with a pleasant hint of pineapple.
Flavors: Lime, Pineapple, Pleasantly Sour, Tart
Preparation
This tea smells delicious and brews up to a beautiful ruby red – exactly the color of a ripe strawberry! Unfortunately, the flavor doesn’t live up to the presentation. I definitely taste the strawberry and there is a slight hint of creaminess, but I find the hibiscus makes it unpleasantly tart, especially if you brew it too long. Probably won’t be repurchasing this one.
Flavors: Cream, Hibiscus, Sour, Strawberry, Tart
Preparation
This tea smells AMAZING when it is brewing and tastes almost as good as it smells: rich and creamy. The coconut flavor really comes through, but there is also a definite hint of dark chocolate; both mingle beautifully with the black tea base. I like it both black and with milk. It’s a great dessert substitute…I don’t feel like I’m depriving myself at all if I drink a mug of this instead of eating a piece of candy. Highly recommended!
Flavors: Coconut, Dark Chocolate
Preparation
This tea is strong and malty and just a bit bitter if you drink it straight. It’s delicious with milk! I drank an entire box and enjoyed every cup, but my not re-purchase because I’m getting into loose-leaf black teas which I enjoy even more.
Flavors: Bitter, Malt
