121 Tasting Notes
This is a backlogged note from last night. After my screw up with the cinnamon rooibos chai tea, I steeped a pot of this. It’s hard for me to screw this one up since the more tart the better but this tea came out perfect. I have a feeling this will become a staple in my tea cupboard.
Preparation
I screwed this one up. I was making a pot and put way too much in I guess because this was like drinking cinnamon toothpaste. I’m not bashing the tea, this was human error. :(
Dear tea,
Please help me sleep. I have to wake up at 5 for a fun filled day of tax and 3D printing starting at 8am.
Kthx.
In all seriousness I think I can taste the mint and lemongrass more and more. I wish I got a little bit more tart but I’m still a happy camper.
Preparation
I was scared this would be more sweet than tart but so glad it’s not! I love fruity tartness and this packs a punch. I’ll definitely have to get more of this in the future, I can see myself drinking this during my night class – the tartness will keep me awake instead of caffeine that would screw up my sleep schedule.
Preparation
I smelled this, and wasn’t sure if I’d love it. The guy at Davids assured me I would after going through teas I have liked, not been a fan of and downright disgusting. I took a leap of faith and bought a little bit to brew at home and I actually like this a lot. The almond is very strong and there’s some sweetness that’s not overpowering. I would even try this with a little bit of honey when I brew it another day. I should add that I hate overly sweet teas but this is downright delicious. It reminds me of the burnt almond cake a local French bakery makes. Crap, now I want cake.
Preparation
I told the guy at Davids to brew me anything that had no caffeine in it. He gave me this with a little bit of agave and I liked it more than I thought I would when he pulled it. I wanted to try something new so I left it all in his hands and it worked out very well. I actually quite enjoyed this. It wasn’t overly sweet even with the agave and I definitely picked up the caramel in this tea. It was the right level of sweet and creaminess to end a day with a friend.
Tea of the day so I tried a sample. I actually quite enjoyed it, you can definitely taste the cinnamon but it’s not too strong. I think the store I visited put a little bit of agave in it too because this reminded me of the cinnamon sugar breakfast pastry my mom use to make when I was growing up.
This just wasn’t for me. I don’t know why but I was having problems steeping this. I believe my teaspoon is larger than what is needed for this tea because all the times I have steeped this tea it has come out very strong. So strong that my stomach gets upset at me for even thinking of ingesting this. I ran out before I could try to work out how to steep this so I don’t know if I’d order this again. I tend to not like oolong teas but I loved pumpkin so I had high hopes for this.
