894 Tasting Notes
Apologies to everyone I’ve kind of just disappeared on – I need to get caught up on a bunch of PMs, TTBs and swaps. Life has been a bit overwhelming the last few weeks, but for the best reasons possible. I had my 33rd birthday this week and also, my life has been consumed with an intensive application process and starting a new job! I just started work full time for a global NGO doing policy work. I didn’t fully realize it when I was applying, but this is pretty much my dream job – I get to travel the world, work from home, devote my time and energy to doing advocacy on a topic close to my heart and make a decent living at it. That said, it’s a pretty big adjustment for me, and I’m pretty wiped out at the end of each day.
I’ve been drinking a lot of my old favourites during this time – soothing, malty black teas that I can just enjoy without thinking too much about them, including this one.
I hope to get a bit caught up on PMs and tasting notes this weekend. I miss the lovely community here.
Flavors: Malt, Smooth, Sweet Potatoes
Preparation
I never would have been inspired to pick this up on my own, but after seeing lots of positive reviews on Steepster, I figured it was time to give it a try. I’m glad I did. This has the most distinctive cranberry flavour I’ve experienced in a tea yet, and the pear flavour is there, though less distinct than the cranberry. This has a lovely, sweet, creaminess to it as well, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I can see picking this one up again – it’s a tasty, easy drinker.
Flavors: Cranberry, Creamy, Pear, Sweet, Tart
Preparation
This isn’t one I would normally go for either, but the reviews are making me think I’ll give it a go on my next trip to DAVID’s.
A pleasant white tea. I’m very particular about flavoured teas that are aiming for peachy kind of flavours, and while this is not bad, it’s not quite what I was hoping for. The nectarine flavour is just not quite authentic enough to really grab me. Still no regrets about picking up a sample, and I will finish what I have left.
Flavors: Peach, Sweet
Preparation
Delicious. Toasty, chocolate and nuts. I keep forgetting that this has oolong in it as well as black tea.
This is a sipdown. I’m really glad I got to try it, and I could see buying it in the future, though it’s not one that I will rush to get back into my cupboard.
Flavors: Chocolate, Nutty, Toasted
oh man…hire me! haha sounds like a bucket full of awesome.
Congratulations on the new job – sounds great!
Congrats! Sounds like the perfect job!!
Congrats! That job sounds ideal.
