128 Tasting Notes
Water: 6oz
Leaves: Tea Powder
Steep: Instant
Aroma: unusual
Color: Light murky green
Taste: The aroma of this tea was quite odd i couldn’t pinpoint what it reminded me of if anything. I was similar to the mint tea in color but lighter. The taste was different compared to the other it was has a sweetness to it that faded in and out. Bland one second sweet the next. I must note the texture wasn’t as noticeable. I was able to take multiple sips from this cup so that says a lot in itself. This tea is an tricky one better than the others with hard to pinpoint flavors. This brings the Chi Whole leaf reviews to a close.

Preparation
Water: 6oz
Leaves: Tea Powder
Steep: Instant
Aroma: Ginger
Color: light rust orange
Taste: Upon adding the powder to the cup my first thought on it’s appearance was it looked like taco seasoning due to the light rusty orange color . Adding water it transformed into a deep dark orange tone with scent of ginger. As for taste was more so like drinking hot water w/ no flavor and a hint of bitterness.

Preparation
Water: 6oz
Leaves: Tea Powder
Steep: Instant
Aroma: Soft mint
Color: Murky Olive Green
Taste: I can start of by saying the aroma of this tea was nice, not strong mint as you would get from pure peppermint but rather soft. This time I did something completely different and used boiled water instead of letting it cool as i normally would. I saw other tea reviews used hot water so i decided to give it a go. The color was a murky olive green with no clarity. I also noticed as this tea sat it tends to separate you can swirl it and see the changes. As for the taste it was bland, very bitter & unpleasant. I couldn’t finish taking my third sip, another cup I couldn’t drink. Three reviews down two more to go~

Preparation
Water: 6oz
Leaves: Tea Powder
Steep: Instant
Aroma: Floral
Color: Dark rose
Taste: This was the first tea of the ones sent to me. As for the steeping process I used 1/4 teaspoon to 6oz of water. I started out with a smaller amount due to me not being sure how I would like this tea. The color was a pretty dark rose.I brought my water to a boil and let it cool a bit before mixing since this was my first time i expected the powder to dissolve when stirred with a spoon but that wasn’t the case. As for flavor I noticed the texture more so & not much taste. I couldn’t finish my cup due to the combination of the two. Hopefully my last 3 teas in this set I’ll have better luck.

Preparation
Water: 8oz
Leaves: small uneven rolls
Steep: 3m
Aroma: Unsure
Color: Golden yellow
Taste: I didn’t realize its been 2 years since my last oolong review. As a result I decided to give this tea a try. As with the previous tea this too was also damaged during shipment. The tea leaves have a distinct aroma but it’s difficult to describe. I started out by rinsing the oolong for 15s followed by a 3m steep (well a little over since i forgot to start my timer lol) The small rolled leaves expanded while brewing they ended up being huge! The little 1 teaspoon grew to being 1/4 cup when I removed the leaved from my cup! The color was golden yellow with great clarity. The flavor of the tea was light, the aroma was stronger than the taste. With the first sip I got bitterness but after with more sips it faded. Overall I found this to be an okay tea.

Preparation
Water: 12oz
Leaves: mini pearls
Steep: 2m
Aroma: Floral
Color: Pale almost clear
Taste: The packing of this tea was in a small plastic sachet, the downside to this is that a majority of the jasmine pearls were crushed during shipment. Besides that the aroma of this tea was great! Having the crushed pearls made brewing a more messy than expected. So i followed threw with brewing for 2m as stated of the packaging. The flavor was light, the aroma remained strong & present after the steeping process.

Preparation
Water: 8oz
Leaves: Tea Bag
Steep: 1m, 2m
Aroma: Sweet
Color: medium yellow
Taste: I’m sooo excited to have a few samples of this tea in my collection! Sakura is something I’ve been wanting to try for a little while now. The packet is made of foil with a green backdrop & a cherry blossom in the middle. The aroma of this tea was more so lightly sweet than the usual vegetable scent i get from green teas. When removing it from the pack & looking closely at the tea bag I could see tiny pink bits of the sakura flower. When brewing I followed my regular tea technique allowing the water to cool before use. In the past i never thought about letting my water cool before using a tea bag but now that I know more, the results have been better than before. I first let this tea steep for 1 minute taking my fist sip the aroma was quite faint & the tea was very lightly flavored. The great thing about this tea there was no bitterness as i experienced with other bagged greens & it felt quite smooth when drinking. Clarity wise it was great clearly being able to see the bottom of my cup. The second 2m steep was also good.Overall I found this to be a nice light green tea bag.
Special thanks to my friend for this sample
Preparation
Water: 8oz
Leaves: Tea Bag
Steep: 3m, 5m
Aroma: Peppermint
Color: Golden brown
Taste: This is my first time reviewing a Stash Tea! The foil packet is a vibrant green which also matches the tag attached to the tea bag. Upon removing the tea from the packet the aroma was amazing a nice strong scent of pure peppermint! As for brewing I decided to do something different I warmed my tea cup. The brewing method was also changed slightly brought my water to a rolling boil & let it cool for 1 minute. The peppermint aroma remained present after the steeping process making drinking a pleasant experience. Taking a sip the tea is light in flavor but leaves a nice cooling sensation in the mouth that lingers as you continue to drink. The clarity is also great clear to wear I can see the bottom of my cup. Overall I feel this makes for a nice cup of tea!

Preparation
Water: 6oz
Leaves: Tea Powder
Steep: Instant
Aroma: Chamomile
Color: Olive
Taste: This actually wasn’t the first tea I tried in the samples sent to me. I didn’t have luck with the first tea at all (didn’t write about). I decided I would try this one using a different technique. The closest I’ve come to this tea in the past would be Matcha. Upon opening the mini sample packet I picked up on the faint aroma of chamomile measured out that I needed. Instead of putting it in a cup, I added the powder to a medium sized bowl, boiled my water & let it cool for 6 minutes to reach the proper temperature. After it was all poured in the bowl over the powder. I then attempted to use my wire whisk to combine the two. The outcome wasn’t pretty I was hoping this time the powder would dissolve but it didn’t it just sat there as I whisked. It was very granular w/ fine clumps settling to the bottom, as the tea liquid floated on top. Some particles sat on top of that and wouldn’t mix in. The appearance reminded me of my Japanese seaweed powder cleansing conditioner. The aroma remained faint, from there I transferred it to my cup. In terms of clarity it was cloudy/murky the granular clumps sank. As for my first sip I got some fine clumps included and that wasn’t pleasant, drinking tea with texture. As for the taste it was like drinking water with a hint of taste not much of anything distinguished. Overall I didn’t find it enjoyable & couldn’t finish the cup after taking a few sips. Even though I used a different technique the result was the same. If you’ve had any luck with these tea please tell me what you did to achieve a desirable result.

Water: 8oz
Leaves: large long medium thick leaves
Steep: 1m,2m,3m
Aroma: Spinach
Color: Light yellow almost clear
Taste: Upon opening the package this tea was a pretty vibrant green accompanied by a fresh spinach aroma. The leaves were larger than expected. When pouring my water over the leaves I noticed a random brown ball floating in my cup, not knowing that it was i picked it out and made a new cup of tea. This time hoping the same thing wouldn’t happen again I continued the brewing process. Also I want to note my tea ball isn’t good at the moment so for brewing these larger leaves so I decided to try a new method. I placed the tea leaves directly in my cup & pour water over them. The first cup worked great because a majority of the leaves floated to the top of my cup making it easier for me to remove them while only a few settled at the bottom that i didn’t remove. The clarity of this tea was great with no cloudiness, crisp & clear i would say. As for the taste I found it to be nice light and refreshing for a afternoon drink. This brings me to the last of my Spring 2015 Tea reviews!
