128 Tasting Notes
Water: 8oz Boiling
Leaves: Various mixture of petals & fruit
Steep: 9m
Aroma: Citrus
Color: Deep Red
Taste: Compared to the other herbal fruit teas I’ve tried so far this one was a more citrus in both flavor & aroma. Yet true to the other teas it had a slight tartness to it as well.
Preparation
This was my first lemongrass tea, the aroma was great lemon & ginger it was much more noticeable after the leaves had steeped. It was a pale colored tea & left me with very little flavor. I’m going to try brewing it again to see if I can get more flavor from it.
Preparation
Water: 8oz
Leaves: medium sized flat leaves
Steep: 1m~2m
Aroma: Vegetable
Color: Light green
Taste: This is my second Japanese green tea, I was quite excited to try this one see that it was a good everyday type of tea from what i had read online. So i went a head to steep it the smell was nice and vegetable. One thing that I found quite surprising was the size of the leaves, they were larger than that other green teas I’ve tried. Overall this tea was very nice and packed quite a bit of flavor as well.

Preparation
Water: 8oz boiled 30s rinse
Leaves: tiny tea leaves
Steep: 2m
Aroma: Earthy
Color: Very dark brown
Taste: This is only my second Pureh tea so i wasn’t sure what to expect. I made sure to give it a 30s rinse before brewing. Then followed a 2 minute steeping the aroma is quite strong deep earthy scent. As for the taste it was burnt & bitter.
Preparation
Water: 8oz boiled
Leaves: tiny tea leaves
Steep: 2-4 minutes
Aroma: regular black tea
Color: Deep golden yellow
Taste: I was happy to receive this in the mail & I was surprised at how large of a sample it was! I went to brewing later that evening to pair this with dinner that night. I can say the flavor of this tea wasn’t too strong but a nice & light. This is also the first tea that I managed tested out cold brewing for the first time and it worked just fine.

Preparation
Water: 8oz at 180 degrees
Leaves: very tiny rolls of leaves
Steep: 1m
Aroma: Smokey
Color: Deep golden yellow
Taste: Once this tea was brew one thing that caught my eye right away was the color. It was the darkest green tea i’ve made with a yellow hue compared to the normal light almost clear liquid. The aroma was quite smokey almost similar to a Oolong but lighter. I didn’t really get too much taste from it.
Preparation
Water: 8oz at 180 degrees
Leaves: very fine tightly would leaves
Steep: 1m,2m,3m,4m
Aroma: Vegetable like/Sencha
Color: Light Greenish yellow
Taste: The first thing I noticed about this tea is that it looked & smelled similar to Verdant Tea’s Laoshan Green!! As I got ready to brew I used 1 tsp of tea leaves then added my hot water & steeped for 1m. Removing the lid off my pot really brought out the lovely aroma! The taste was very light and refreshing! Even with multiple infusions I never had any bitterness!
Preparation
Water: 8oz at 180 degrees
Leaves: very large flat leaves
Steep: 1m,2m
Aroma: light
Color: Light Green
Taste: I was interested in trying this tea because I haven’t seen anything like it before. First steep was for 1 minute, the first sip was bitter then it mellowed out to a lighter non bitter note. On the other hand the second steep was the complete opposite 2m I didn’t like it at all. This time around it was very bitter, I couldn’t finish my cup. I’m not sure if I used too many leaves or if my water was a bit hotter than expected but overall I didn’t enjoy this tea.
*Update!
I recently brewed this tea again this time following a different technique, it came out much better than the first time. Light smooth with no bitterness.
Preparation
Water: 8oz Boiled
Leaves: medium size brownish black leaves
Steep: 10s
Aroma: floral & woody
Color: golden yellow
Taste: To begin with this tea I did a 5s rinse. The rinse really brought the aroma to life the steam of the leaves gave off the usual floral sent I tend to get with most oolongs but with a woody tone. I’m not the big fan of oolongs, this was okay. The second steep was 20s I found it to be a little bitter.Third was 30s and the flavor was lighter with no bitterness.
Preparation
Water: 8oz at 196 degrees
Leaves: green fuzzy leaves
Steep: 2m
Aroma: floral
Color: light yellow
Taste: It’s been quite a while since I made any tea, during that time I’ve experimented with coffee Starbucks VIA-Ice Coffee to be exact. So i went with this tea to get back into the swing of brewing. I really enjoyed this tea it was very smooth and had a light floral aroma. I’m sipping on it now as I prepare to watch my favorite anime of the moment Shingeki no Kyojin.
