1407 Tasting Notes
This one came in my Herbal Infusions order today.
The scent is pretty awesome. Warm creamiscle. I have to say the taste is more orange than cream. My package of this specially says “Orange Lapacho/Vanilla”, but I don’t get vanilla.
On the upside, this lapacho type of tea is great! When I saw a comparison to rooibos/honeybush I was slightly concerned but there’s no bizarre medicinal taste here.
Thanks Sil for adding this delightfully scented treat to our swap. :)
I warmed milk in the microwave (thanks to Stephanie for this tip), then proceeded to dump in 1.2 tsp. of matcha and use my frother to mix it up. The scent is incredible. The taste is banana creamy milk. I’m tempted to use more matcha next time. I poured about half my mug full of milk and the flavour is definitely there, but more could be better.
This one was distinctive flavouring.
I’m not so sure about this one. There’s a familiar scent here that I can’t place – but it’s neither coconut nor chai. I’m not huge on chai teas as it is, but Zhena’s coconut chai is pretty tasty. There is coconut here, though the taste is pretty subtle. I can’t really say I get a lot of chai flavour at all. Not a bad tea, but not coconut chai.
I’ve never ordered this one myself, but jessiwrites sends me some occasionally. I don’t think I love it enough to order it myself, but yet I thoroughly enjoy it the rare times I do drink it. It really does embody a strawberry cupcake with a nice black base.
Preparation
This one was sent my way by Stephanie :)
This one seems quite similar to Coconut Oolong from David’s. Though I generally prefer darker oolongs, so perhaps someone with more of a palate for green oolongs would say differently. It’s green oolong-y, it’s coconutty. Overall a tasty tea.
I’ve been researching fisheries and bycatch all day, and I’m almost overwhelmed with the data I’ve found.
Flavors: Coconut
Preparation
This was in my most recent S&V order. I find they do dessert teas so well.
The scent is predominantly chocolate and black tea. In my initial sip I’m getting some caramel flavour with some chocolate in the background. The chocolate is more towards the end of the sip. With each sip the chocolate seems to become more obvious and melds with the caramel well. I think I’ll try this at a lower temperature next time to see if it coaxes a bit more flavour out.
I’ve also decided to hunt for a great maple tea. I’m open to suggestions. :)
Flavors: Caramel, Chocolate

This was another from my swap with Stephanie. :)
This is just the type of black tea I love. It’s deep, rich, bright, and delicious. I’m realizing that some of my favourite teas are from Taiwan.
Ooh, I’ve never heard of lapacho, but I have the same issue with the medicinal quality of rooibos, so I should try it out!
i vaguely recall there being some sort of “don’t drink too much of this” thing regarding lapacho… but it’s totally worth it to me for the delicious orange cream taste… now to find a truly orange and cream sort of tea…since the vanilla seems to have poofed from this one
Haha yes. I started Googling it last night and found that out for myself.
Did you check out the link I sent? It has vanilla!
yes i did! you’re trying to make me buy tea! I think you might be a woozle…
Hehehe.
