107 Tasting Notes
this is a GOOD jasmine tea!
i put a couple of pearls in my tiny cup and steeped for about a minute and it had unfurled!
jasmine scent is good-strong, not overpowering
jasmine taste is good-strong too. there was an almost imperceptible bitter aftertaste, will have to steep for a shorter time, maybe? still it fared better than the other jasmine i had steeped earlier and gave up on hot-steeping. the other jasmine also had that slight bitter after taste even after cold-steeping :(
this is my first jasmine pearl though so no points of comparison but this is the best jasmine i’ve had! haha
one time, i will have to steep at the same time as my other jasmines.
will update this upon re-steep <3
update: the 2nd steep normalized the flavor and i liked it the best. was able to steep about a couple times more of this goodness :)
there’s another entry for this tea in here:

that said,
this is the first stash tea that i officially like! thank you Kasumi for the sample :)
i tastes like a light chai and it is perfect coz i just had a super strong assam earlier which surprised me (the assam) but was able to recover from it by preparing my heart and mixing it with some milk ;)
back to this pumpkin spice –
altho it is light, it has this bite toward the end that is not at all unpleasant…but fitting for a chai! it rounds up the overall taste making it a good tea for me :)
for those who find it too light may add some of that strong assam that surprised me earlier :P
try as i might, i could not find any pumpkin notes in it. so if you are cinderella, you might be a little disappointed ^^
i’m addicted to the scent of this after a steep! couldn’t put the teapot down…and i wouldnt have if i didnt have to pour out the pot of MateVana (steeped them at the same time for comparison)
even now, my nose is in the empty teapot as i type….sigh…
the taste is ok. it has a tinge of sweetness that is just right. but the scent in the teapot is still the best…ahhhh
the scent! very strong upon opening..but it was bliss…
the “tea” – very weak…i would add more next time
the treat – it has no tea leaves. but it smells so good, i could eat it up before even steeping it! and guess what..after steeping, i did eat it all up! ______________
i like momo’s suggestion to boil it for 10mins…might get a bit stronger. will try that next time!
It has a nice flowery blend. There is also this sweet aftertaste at the back of my throat (same one as in Celestial’s Tension Tamer) that I just cant place…common ingredients are chamomile and licorice but i don’t think it is either of those.
I really like that sweetness at the end…if anybody knows what it is..and the other teas that have that – pls, let me know :)
Thanks for this sample, Kasumi!
Im not sure if this is a black tea. It’s probably oolong. The color is darker than a green tea’s definitely. I like how it does not easily get bitter. It has a sweet rose scent and the flavor is equally so! The rose tastes so natural in it. I really like this tea :)
It smells wonderful! It is better with some sweetener as I find is the case for me with the fruity tisanes. Added some milk for a creamier chocolate taste. I like the rooibos in this too, delicately blending in with the rest of the ingredients. Thanks to Serenity for the AK sample and prep advice!
had this at my aunt’s house this afternoon and it was ok…
i liked that the flavor imparted by the toasted rice but as with the grocery store genmaicha i have at home, the green tea flavor was faint (i really am a black tea lover).
wasnt able to gauge the temp when i poured so it may have been hotter than it should’ve and maybe i didnt time it well enough. but i kinda liked the overall taste of the one at home better. i will try to steep this better on my next visit :)
it has that yummy toasted flavor of brown rice with a delicate green tea taste…or maybe too delicate?
i cant taste it anymore after taking a bite of chocolate :(
but i still liked it enough to steep a 2nd bag :)
i left my teabag steeping for way too long and it never got bitter, lol. good or bad? hahaha
just when i thought i was getting to like green tea :s
this one is on my shopping list. looking for a good pearl.
Jasmine Pearls are all awesome
