I got this tea as a free sampler from teas etc. It has a very weak, unimpressive flavor profile. I even tossed the leaves back in for a minute more steep time, but the flavor did not improve. It was packaged in a small clear plastic bag, so this tea might have gone south due to prolonged sun exposure in their warehouse.

Becuase I’m vegan, my mom struggles to figure out what to send me for holidays. She sends my brother candy and cookies, and for me, she settled on tea. I couldn’t be happier! I got this one for Easter, and I am pleasantly surprised that a tea from World Market is this good. Because of it’s low caffeine content, it makes a perfect cup of tea to enjoy with a good book as I am getting ready for bed.

I’m not usually a fan of green tea, but today I made a nice matcha smoothie with vanilla soy milk and agave nectar. Now, I just need to figure out the best way to make hot matcha. I failed miserably once already.

Usually black teas are pretty straight forward when it comes to preparation, this one, however; I find easy to over-steep. When over-steeped, it gets very bitter and actually makes me sick to my stomach. When brewed correctly though, it is somewhat enjoyable and has a rather soothing aroma.

It was a dark, rainy day today in Salt Lake City so I decided to make a pot of this dark, caramely goodness after work. This is one of my favorite everyday strong black teas. It is best with a spoon full of agave nectar.

I brewed up a cup of rooibos last night before bed mixing in a small amount of adagio’s lemongrass to enhance the flavor profile. Quite Nice.

I was very disappointed by this tea, and I’m a huge fan of other Golden Monkeys. As another reviewer aptly put it: “this one seems unusually plain.” It was also a bit too expensive, I think.
