12 Tasting Notes
An amazing tea; not as sweet as the other Formosa Red from this company, but with a very sweet and pleasant aroma, and a light touch of sweetness and honey, a bit of grassy taste as well, to the tea’s flavor.
Flavors: Grass, Honey, Sweet
Preparation
It was bitter, astringent, and generally crappy. I was really surprised; this was way worse than any other tea I’ve had in a long time. Upton usually does a good job with teas; I suspect this was just either a bad batch or a mistake on my part.
Preparation
Not especially sweet. Some notes of grass, a hint of chocolate and toast. Little or no astringency or tannin aftertaste. I can imagine this as a really good tea for a winter day.

Preparation
I’ve had mine for a while (maybe not this exact model, but these kinds of Zojirushi Water Boiler and Warmers. It literally could not get better for the single tea drinker. You can make tea a cup at a time, pre-boil water and have it around until you need it, or make a pot in a few minutes. I can’t recommend it enough.
As teas go, this is at best middling. But at worst, it’s also middling. It’s not offensively terrible, it’s not overloaded with weird flavors, and it holds well even if it’s oversteeped, under temperature, or under just plain crappy conditions. It’s… tea. Not great tea, but tea. I’d recommend it over things like Bigelows & Constant Comment.
