From Yamamotoyama

Sencha tea has a fresh, flowery taste, and is the most favored tea in Japanese homes. This family-size (200g) is suitable for daily enjoyment.

Brewing parameters:

Sencha 3-5 grams (approx. 1tbsp) in 200-240ml (approx. 1 cup) at 80°C (176°F) for 0.5 – 1min.

It is a bit bitter after first steeping but mellows nicely as it cools. And you have to love the taste for the price, around $3 at the Broadway Market in Chicago.

I haveto agree with the other reviews, it is a cheaper tea, but it has a good flavor. One of my favorite to make iced, I use, .5 oz (by weight) and 46 oz (by volume) hot water steep for about 5-6 minutes, dump some ice in it to cool and water it down a bit to taste, play with the brew times if you like, I personally like a strong green tea. It’s inexpensive enough to make daily. It also is a great everyday hot tea.

For the price, this is a very nice tea in terms of flavor and color. This is my everyday stock green tea of choice.

Nice and basic every day sencha. Lacks the pungent “sea weedy” aroma I enjoy from other Japanese greens.

Got 2 infusions 1 1/2 and 2 minutes at about 180. Sort of bitter, but not overwhelmingly so. Very vegetal and slightly grassy. Nice sencha for the price.
