From The NecessiTeas

Easter just wouldn’t be the same without peeps! In fact, you could say that peeps are to food what ugly Christmas sweaters are to clothing. You know whether you prefer chicks to bunnies, fresh to stale, or plain to chocolate covered. I personally prefer slightly stale pink bunnies! When it comes to peeps, you either love them or you hate them. Their sugary, marshmallowy sweetness is enough to make your teeth ache, and I’m ok with that! I decided to make a healthier version of my favorite Easter treat by blending naturally sweet honeybush with mini marshmallows, pink sugar crystals and organic flavors. The outcome? Same sweet, marshmallowy goodness, minus the toothache!

Ingredients: Honeybush, organic brown sugar, freeze dried marshmallows (sugar, corn syrup, water, modified cornstarch, contains less than 2% of gelatin, sodium phosphate, natural and artificial flavor, blue 1), pink sugar crystals, natural and organic flavors.

Thanks to amandastory516 for this sample! I removed the marshmallows before steeping, but even so, it tastes pretty sugary and marshmallowy. Really, it doesn’t taste how I remember peeps tasting, but it does taste decent. There’s something artificial in there (which works for peeps) that isn’t 100% enjoyable, but I like it enough. I’m having it with milk, which I think makes it better. The second steep tasted the same as the first.

Sipdown! (44 | 248)

More swap samples!

I’m honestly not a fan of Peeps in the first place, but I do like marshmallows, so this should be interesting.

It actually does taste like peeps – sugary with a bit of marshmallow. Maybe a hint of fruit as well? But mostly it’s just sugary and sweet because of all the sugar I saw in the leaf.

It’s not awful, but too sweet for me.

I sipped on this while making some baked oatmeal cups since I needed to use up some ripe bananas and didn’t feel like making banana bread.
This one is pretty sweet and yummy it’s simple in flavor since it’s slightly caramel-y from the rooibos and sugar combo. I don’t get peeps from this specifically and am missing that marshmallow flavor. I would happily drink this again since I love pretty much anything that’s really sweet. I don’t think I’d repurchase this one though just because it doesn’t really stand out in flavor. Glad I got the chance to try it! I love the idea of an Easter inspired tea!
This was one of the samples AmandaStory kindly sent me (:

Got a sample of this (and several other teas) today from AmandaStory! Thanks!
This has such a rich caramel scent to it! It’s very pretty visually before steeping with little colored sugar crystals sprinkled in the mix. It tastes sweet with a very light caramel flavor that becomes more prominent in the finish. There is something slightly tart in there that starts mid sip and lingers. I’m enjoying this cup and am super happy to have something new to try in the evening!
