Backlogging on this one: I bought this in my Christmas tea spree. I don’t usually drink a lot of herbals besides peppermint. I like this one. When I have had it I have not gotten the Chili Pepper much but I like the combo of the Strawberry and Chocolate in it.

I love this herbal tea, it smell so good. Very good after the diner.

Vraiment mon genre de thé (en fait plus une tisane) le goût est unique et ça sent très très bon. Il faut aimer le chocolat et il y a un petit goût piquant qui complète bien cette tisane.

All the flavors come through at varying strengths. First chocolate, then chili and then a mild reminder of the fruit in it. I first prepared this in water and it looked kind of gross but tasted alright. I would recommend this highly in milk, it makes the chocolate and chili flavors shine in a more fulfilling way.

I can never really taste the chilli in this but it’s still an awesome chocolate tea. I drink it with Matevana, and it’s like hot chocolate!

This is a given for anyone who has more than half a brain, but do not ever mix this with lemon mate. Such a disgusting moment of my life.

I’ve been mixing this tea with others in my cabinet, trying to find the blend that will make this more palatable. I’ve tried quite a few combinations, few of which are worth mentioning. But now, with just a few teaspoons left, I have finally found what I believe to be a beautiful match for the Azteca Fire.

I mixed equal parts Azteca Fire and Teavana’s Strawberry Slender Pu-Erh black tea, steeped for a few minutes, then added a bit of cream and demerara sugar. The result was absolutely delightful. It was, by far, one of the best blends I’ve tried. Some here have suggested that the Azteca Fire is best when blended with other teas, and I would agree. It seems that it is especially harmonious with black teas.

I will keep my rating the same since I’m still not fond of this tea by itself, but these two in a mug together are magic.

I wish I had read some tasting notes prior to brewing this up, because I saw some hints that might have made this better.

The first cup I had was murky brown with an oil slick on the surface. I took a sip without added anything, but it was too watery. Added creamer, which made it marginally better, but not a lot. I decided to overleaf and over-steep for the second cup in an effort to pull out some flavour. It was still quite weak and watery, but also I picked up on the apple notes, which for me didn’t really go with the blend.

Sipdowns accomplished. And that’s it for the flavoured tea’s for the rest of the evening.

I had this blended with another Teavana tea and it wasn’t bad…maybe some type of chocolate chai?

scribbles

I saw other posts where they mixed it with another tea to give it more body. Unfortunately I saw those notes too late.

Needs to be sweetened. After that, its alright. I may be tainted though because I’m not a huge fan of blends.

I like this tea. It has a nice fruity chocolate scent. The flavor is a weaker less chocolate version of the scent. I think the flavor should have more chocolate in it.

This tea is amazing! It’s like a hot chocolate on a cold day. It smells amazing very hot chocolatey and cocoa like before steeping. After steeping it was consistent with smell and taste. It’s exactly like a hot cocoa but probably much much healthier. It’s delicious! I’m gonna take another sip now!
