From Teavana

This rose-colored blend is created from a pairing of luscious strawberries and peaches with sweet floral hibiscus, rose hips and jasmine green tea pearls.

Fragrant hints of jasmine mix lightly with sweet peach, strawberry, and kiwi.

Use 1-1.5 tsp of tea per 8oz of water. Heat water to 175 degrees (79 degrees Celsius) and steep for 2 minutes. For stronger flavor, use more tea leaves. 2oz of tea equals 25-30 teaspoons.

Ingredients: Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls green tea, green rooibos, hibiscus flowers, apple pieces, rose hip peels, kiwi pieces, peach pieces (peach, rice flour), artificial flavoring, strawberry pieces, marigold petals

I must admit that the tea’s taste versus the tea’s smell threw me off. I read about this tea online and had to go to Teavana to smell it—I am a HUGE fan of Jasmine teas. Their Jasmine Pearls and Peach Tranquility blend is amazing, so I thought the added berry in Peachberry would be just as sweet and floral. The dry leaves promised a sweet but delicate floral tea.

I brewed about 4 scoops in my Tea Forte Pugg teapot for about 1.5 minutes. The strength was perfect, but WOW it was TART! I was not expecting such a tart, Jasmine tea. I suspect the hibiscus has much to do with this! BUT I then added some rock sugar, and voila, the tea balanced out. It was no longer so tart—I could taste the notes of peach, jasmine, and strawberry. I then quickly finished the pot and brewed another! Delicious ! I think it will mix well with extra Peach Tranquility or Strawberry Lemonade. I cannot wait to try it iced!

I would recommend this, but it does need some sweetener to counteract the tart hibiscus!

Smells like faint rose, tastes like tangy berries.
Can’t taste the green at all.
Nothing too exciting, really.

(HOT) Very sweet flavors of peach and berries mask the flavor of the green tea however it is forgiven by a full palate of flavor and refreshing undertones.

Picked this one up from Teavana today because it smelled good and was very low in cafffeine. One nice thing about Teavana is they rate their teas by caffeine content so I know this tea does not have much. This tea is interesting if a little too fruity. Sometimes Teavana does fruity very well. This tea is decent but not great. I am hopeful that it won’t keep me awake. I would rather be drinking puerh but the caffeine often kills me. I don’t want to be awake all night from the caffeine so this tea is a compromise. As a blend of green tea and green rooibos it is lower in caffeine still.

Drinking this tea is a bit like drinking sangria without the alcohol. The flavor of the rooibos is strong and does not mix entirely well with the jasmine tea.

I brewed this once in an 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and 175 degree water for 3 min.

The puerh I drank the other night was too strong for my Ambien to work right. This does not have enough caffeine to interfere.

Backlog from October 29th:

This is my first time trying green tea pearls, and I am amazed at how beautiful they are – like miniature brussels sprouts, compact and perfectly round. Alongside the pearls were bits of unidentifiable fruit – I’m guessing peach. The dry mix smells just like the peach gummy rings my grandmother used to eat when I was a kid so I was a little worried about the way this would taste. Those were never my favorite and I couldn’t imagine that flavor working in a hot tea. As it began steeping, the color moved from a steely grey to a berry red as bits of pink started seeping out to color the tea. The aroma also changed, going from sweet peach candy to fragrant blossoms. I’ve never before experienced a floral tea so I was quite surprised (and delighted) to find that the flavor matched the floral scent I caught while steeping.

This is a unique tea, at least compared to those I’ve tried. I am really enjoying it. Since it’s also one of my husband’s favorite teas we’ll likely be keeping this one well stocked in the pantry.

Not for me. Tried it hot and didn’t like it. Tried it iced and it was even worse. Now trying to figure out what I can blend it with since I have 2 ounces of it to use up . I taste no peach flavor. There is some berry, but something else is overwhelming in it. I don’t know if that’s the jasmine or not as this is my first jasmine tea and also my first green tea.

I’m very new to drinking loose leaf tea and even more new at reviewing it, so I’ll give my noob opinion just in case someone like me decides to check it out! I brewed 3 teaspoons of this tea for about 24oz in hot water for 3 minutes, I stirred in some local organic honey and wow, I really like this tea! I’ve had literally 2 other loose leaf teas in my life (lots of bagged tea though) and this tea is so far one of my faves. I haven’t tried it without the honey to sweeten it. It definitely has a very strong fruity flavor and I can taste the rooibos in it as well. I have to agree that the green tea flavor is not as strong as it could be, but I like the tea as is. I specifically requested a flavorful mild tea, and it does not disappoint.

I have been drinking this tea all week!! I love it! It’s both tart and sweet, and turns the prettiest color! It has jasmine in it, which I love <3 and the jasmine goes really well with the other fruity ingredients.

Sipdown (196/198)!

Thanks VariaTEA for the sample; I’ve sorta put off trying it for a while, but I finally used it up by cold brewing it. In total, it cold brewed for 10 hours, and was a really deep red colour when it was finished. I ended up drinking it while watching Supernatural with Tre (KEVIIINNNNN).

It was weird because every other note was sort of really different. Sometimes it was really tart and fruity, and sometimes it was this nice mellow and soft jasmine with an underlying peachiness to it. Very odd, and inconsistent but overall pretty decent. I don’t think I’d want it again, but yeah – a pleasant enough experience.

Though it would be interesting enough to try it hot – but I imagine that’d lean more towards to tarter/fruity side.

So thank you, VariaTEA.
