A friend of mine let me try this and gifted me some from her stash. I’m typically not a fruity tea person, but this one had just enough floral notes to it to balance out the rich fruit flavour. I’m kinda bummed that I’m out of it now considering it’s no longer in circulation, but it’s definitely an easily replaceable blend. Tasted more of fruit than of actual tea. Despite that, I truly did enjoy it.

Here’s Hoping Traveling Teabox Round #3 – Tea #14

Another Teavana blend that doesn’t sound too bad from the ingredients list.. but I really can’t tell the difference from the blend I had the other day other than the lovely fig fragrance is missing. This one actually looks like it has a good deal of oolong in the blend for once, but the bases Teavana uses are always so odd looking. Two teaspoons and quite a long steep doesn’t really bring out much flavor.. but there is that fake sugar that dominates again. With so many ingredients why am I just getting fake sugar every time? At least the other had the fig.
Steep #1 // 2 tsps. // just boiled // 4-5 min

Teavana had another one of their sales so I decided to go check it out. Who can resist 50% off? One of the half off teas was this one. It sounded interesting so I had to try it. The fruity dry smell is the first thing that attracted me to it. My husband also thought it smelled good so I figured why not.

So far so good. The fruitiness one smells during the steeping process is quite mellow once tasted. Also, like many others have stated, I prefer it lukewarm. You get so much more flavor that way. I do wish though that they wouldn’t put rock sugar in it. I’ll have to pick it out and try it again at some point.

I was so excited to try this tropical oolong tea, but found it lacking in tropical flavors. My cup was overwhelmingly cinnamon which wasn’t horrible but far from what I was expecting. Don’t think I’ll buy again and I’ll have a difficult time finishing my tin.

This is a decent tea when brewed strong and served iced. Not a fan of it hot, however.

This is a good tea. Not a great tea, but a good one. I added some organic oolong as a filler, and a small spoon of agave. I waited until it was lukewarm.

This tea incorporates too many flavours. I could not taste the oolong at all. The flowery notes are overpowering did not let the fruity taste come through as much as I would have liked. I like the idea of combining cinammon with fruit but I was not able to really detect any cinnamon coming through.
