Single bag grabbed from a tea box. I taste mostly a sour rose and a pepperiness, maybe also from the rose. I get maybe a little chocolate and some nuttiness. The black tea doesn’t contribute much. I’m drinking this with milk, and it’s okay, but not really my thing. I don’t like that these bags are each stored in their own non-sealed cardboard pyramid.

From the sampler box. There is chocolate (not quite enough for me); there is rose (a little too much for me), but it performs exactly as advertised. Tea Forte recommends it with milk. I recommend it with a Russell Stover chocolate cream. Adds a little elegance to a glumpy afternoon, the highlight of which has been vacuuming cat hair and folding far too many loads of laundry.

Breaking out the Valentines Day chocolate already? haha I’m trying to wait a little longer.

I made sure to not have mine delivered too early so I wouldn’t eat them… o.o

Leftover Christmas in preparation for a new supply next week ;)

I am also finishing Christmas chocolate in preparation for Valentine chocolate! LOL

Cameron B.

Wow, I’m impressed that you have any Christmas chocolate left! I definitely would not… XD

Cameron B.: I bought THREE JARS of the Quality Street assortment from BJs, one bag of Hershey’s assortment (I only ate the Reese’s cuz Kisses cuz jump in a lake), and was gifted a box of See’s and two bags of Lindt truffles. Fortunately, I am not eating these alone.

I usually have holiday candy leftover from one holiday until the matching holiday shows up the next year. So my Christmas candy will last until next Christmas. :D

The tea smells of chocolate and gentle rose. Nothing very strong. When brewed the scent has rose and mild chocolate, not too intense. The taste I found was a good balance of tea leaf, chocolate and rose. No one taste was stronger then others.

Sipdown! One of hopefully many in the near future as I have now made a list of ~20 teas that I need to sipdown before I can buy more. I have my eye of August Uncommon Tea’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection but I just can’t justify it until I’ve drastically reduced my current stores (especially with the Canadian dollar being so low). Hopefully this whole postal strike ordeal will be over by then.

On to the actually tea. It’s okay, but just okay. There’s a hint of milk chocolate and maybe a suggestion of something floral, but overall I’d say it just comes across as a weak, cheap breakfast tea. Going to lower my rating on it, as it really is nothing special.

Steepster rating is after adding sugar and milk. Note that Tea Forte recommends this tea with milk.

I picked up a Tea Forte black roasted teas assortment box awhile ago and now I’m just trying to finish it off. The Chocolate Rose is not so great without milk and sugar (I wouldn’t rate it above a 33).

After 5 minutes of steeping (maximum recommended by tea forte), the flavor of chocolate isn’t really detectable nor is the rose.. it’s just a strange synthetic flavor.

I added sugar and milk to see if this would help and it did help a great deal. The tea became mild, and I was able to taste more of the chocolate, and something that tasted floral (although I wouldn’t go as far as to say I could identify it as rose).

This tea is definitely not a winner…. dry leaf smells so promising but the tea itself has no real chocolate flavor to speak of, too much rose and a weird artificial after taste. This was improved somewhat by the addition of soymilk but I might throw away my remaining samples unless any of my followers want them.

Bummer. I haven’t had any Tea Forte teas lately but I remember not being impressedwith their chocolate.

There aren’t too many chocolate teas I really like, but this was a bummer

Right as I poured the water in I could smell a rose scent like potpourri, but that only lasted half a second. Then it was replaced with this overwhelming artificial rose flavor and something similar to chocolate, but only so loosely similar that you could mistake it for something else. It smells artificial, and not all that appetizing.

The tea tastes like soap in the worst way possible. I don’t even want to finish it, and I usually feel bad about wasting tea. This is so bad, I’m not giving this a number, but I’m not recommending this to anyone either.

The rose flavor was very overpowering and extremely artificial in both taste and smell. The chocolate flavor was almost non-existent. I would definitely NOT recommend this flavor.

I’ve had quite a few TeaForte teas but I’ve never liked any of their chocolate teas. :(
