White Chocolate

A lovely white chocolate flavor which is very distinguishable!
Creamy and sweet but not cloying! A very nice blend!
Perfect for a cool day!

So i have a confession, which isn’t that big of a deal, but i hate white chocolate. it’s like chocolate, only without the “good” stuff. Cavocorax was awesome enough to let me steal a cup of this tea from our order with Janet at the steap shoppe (big shout out to janet for her amazing customer service by the way!).

The dry blend smells delicious. It’s chocolate and yet not quite the chocolate smell that i associate with white chocolate. There’s an undertone of vanilla in the smell as well. There is rose hip in here, but there is nothing floral about this blend.

The liquid form of this tea could be called white chocolate, but i’m not sure if i’ve ever had white chocolate that tastes like this :) My other half says that this does taste like white chocolate, at the end of the sip. I’m getting more of a vanilla chocolate taste, but it’s still pretty good and the tea base is nice. I think this could be one of those teas i enjoy from time to time while not a regular member of my official lineup lol

Sipdown! Must admit, this really wasn’t too bad today. Actually tasted kind of like white chocolate. I do have a strange soft spot for these blends, since they definitely were unique. I’d maybe get a few again sometime in the future, just to try. The rest of my samples from Steap are in my mug-sipdown pile, though.

I decided to try this iced, although I’ve enough left to try it hot later on.

So far it tastes like bark – that special type of bark I associate with white teas, especially DT’s Cookie Dough. It’s a little creamy, and it’s a bit sweet, but I’m not really getting chocolate from it. I’ll try it hot before I rate it.

ETA: I drank the second half of my sample hot. (154) It is MUCH better this way. I still get that barky-white tea taste, but this reminds me much more of white chocolate. This is sweeter, and creamier and very good.

Now if only I were crazy about white chocolate! :P I just had to try it though. Just because.

I was surprised that this tea looked a bit more like a fruit blend than a chocolate one. For some reason it reminded me a little bit of a cranberry blend I had in the past. It might just be the bright bits of red. As a little side note, I have to say that the tea did not appear to be all that fresh. It might just be that it got a little bit beaten up in the mail, but the blend itself looked musty and not too appealing. This didn’t stop me from making a cup and I’m actually quite glad I did.

After water has been added, this cup smells sweet and grassy. Sipping.. I taste mostly a rather pungent white tea. It’s very grassy, but not in the ‘just picked’ kind of way. I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s like really dry straw and moist plants. Yes, an odd combination… but true for me! I do get a little bit of white chocolate in the swallow. It’s interesting because it comes out of nowhere, but I like it. I wish I could taste those smooth and buttery notes that one often gets with white chocolate. I think the flavors could be tweaked a little bit because it’s a tad strange.

Mmm this smells fantastic! The scent is true to it’s name and is straight white chocolate, delicious. It tastes great too, definitely getting some lovely cocoa notes. It really does taste like white chocolate, it’s not super sweet or cloying. Just a lovely nice light sweetness. Very smooth, tasty, really good! This goes on my sTEAp Shoppe shopping list. :)

I was really not expecting a free sample, but I have to admit I loved that I had a spare teabag just to use whenever. I get to do a decupboarding, and try a new tea as well!

I am not a big white chocolate fan, I’ve got to say. I much prefer the bitterness of dark chocolate – white chocolate can be overly sweet for my tastes. The smell of this was both accurate to white chocolate and not overbearing, though – perhaps because I know the tea won’t have the sugar added unless I add some.

As it steeps this reminds me of hot chocolate – regular Swiss Miss, that I remember having in the winter as a kid. I was one of those children that had hot chocolate made with water (my mind was blown when I grew up and realized you could use milk as a base instead).

Hmm – the taste is watered down hot chocolate, but that isn’t really a bad thing. This is more milk chocolate than white, and its a surprisingly accurate chocolate flavor with none of the chemical undertones that other chocolate flavored teas have. The white tea base works well here, more as a vessel for the chocolate flavor than anything I can detect on its own. And the texture is really creamy and luscious. It is hot chocolate without the sugar, and a really good alternative to that in the winter, I’d imagine.

I am impressed – which is a good thing because I have another chocolate based tea to try from the sTEAp shoppe. And I’ll keep this one around on my wishlist for the winter months – I think it will come in handy then!

The white tea and rich white chocolate are paired together to yield a soft sweet taste. If you love chocolate and tea, this is surely one to try. Instead of having desert having a cup of this is sure to keep that sweet tooth happy !

i love this tea; it has such a delightful aroma and is an amazing treat for desert or a soft afternoon. This carries such a exquisite taste , a tea just for that sweet tooth .
